Was told yesterday by her PM deadlines would be missed because she doesnt really know what she is doing. He escalated to her superior. Superior told PM he should have xxx. Junior talked to me late in the day about the same issue. I went back to same superior who told me she has enough oversight, shouldn't need any help, hes given her plenty of direction and then spelled out what he's done incl providing step by step direction. I suggested we could get another team member to help her out. Superior doesnt agree since it shouldn't be a 2 person job. She came to me and her PM because she's struggling and asking for help, but the person who can doesnt want or doesnt think she needs it. Not sure what else to do - the girl was close to crying.
Maybe see if she can swap teams, get her some external training and/or a mentor/ peer to from another team to give her advice? Sounds like a lack of skill issue but it could also be amplified bc team isn’t supportive and she’s not performing bc she’s stressed.
If none of those are we’ll received, minds are most likely already made...
