Thinking of trading in my MacBook Pro (2015 early ) for an iPad Pro (12.9) . MacBook is a secondary device used only for basic browsing . Good decision??

I have the iPad Pro and it’s awesome

like

Agreed. It’s close, but not quite there. But unless you’re doing gaming/coding/advanced stuff you’re going to be fine with an iPad.

IMO best setup is using an iPad as you’re daily personal device and then having a stationary desktop that you can remote into (via Jump or something), if you need that type of functionality.

I think you’ll be fine. The iPad isn’t a full replacement for a laptop but with iPadOS it’s getting close. I use an iPad Pro as my main personal device with no issues. Nice having great battery, instant on, great performance, and a nice screen.

If you’re just doing basic web browsing and email and texting you’ll be great.

like

Yes

I just did it but with 11” pro, I do light video and photo editing and the iPad always outperformed my older 2015 MacBook Pro (4K video).

I have a work laptop which I am on for 90% of the day and when I got my iPad my MacBook sat for months with no real need. I ended up trading it in towards a new iPhone instead.

Need advice. Have some credit card debt that I’ve been working to pay off. Have made progress but want to lower it quickly. We have dual income, with a house (~$300k in equity), 1 kid and 1 on the way. I’ve looked into debt consolidation via HELOC but also have ~$80k in vested equity in my company that I haven’t touched. Get equity refreshes every year. Would it be smarter to cash out $15k-$20k of that to pay debt vs. a HELOC at ~5% given that will still require mthly payments

I am selling house and remodeling both master bath and kids bath. Got quote for 29k for both and I buy floors and cabinets.question is I have a very big whirlpool tub and tiles around it discolored. It’s a hassle to lift it up change the tiles and fixtures and put it back. It’s old but works great. Remodeling ppl recommend get rid of it, give space to buyers if they want to buy standalone tub. I thought it adds value to have whirlpool tub. But can’t even change fixture. Should I get rid of it?

This is gonna sound stupid, but I’m honest - I can’t do math. Calculating a tip is as advanced as I get. Thank god for excel formulas and a math savvy husband. At the end of the day, I pay all the bills (I know- but I’m more organized) and make double his salary, what low stress effort (on my limited math capacity brain) can I do to increase wealth?

I feel like I should be doing more with extra money to help us financially, but I’m scared of having to study stocks and understand the numbers. 😖

I’m not bad with money but definitely lots of room to improve overall, due to several personal factors I don’t want to list in full here (numerous unanticipated medical bills, bad boyfriends, etc.) Hence why I only have $3k in savings right now. My first mini goal is to have $5k saved by the end of December. I need motivation and words of encouragement. If I pay off my medical bills, I won’t make my goal. I have to start putting saving money first. Getting depressed about my situation.
