Which one to choose between Optum and Tiger Analytics for Data Scientist position? Where can I expect better data science domain expertise (In my previous companies I found very less understanding of Data Science practices as team)? Heared good things about both of these. Also hearing Tiger is expanding rapidly and getting some crap projects as well in the name of data science. Could someone put light on these things?

This precise question gets asked here about every other day. Do a couple of searches and you’ll find many robust discussions of the issues.

Do both simultaneously.
If you are going to big law on cravath scale, it’s a set deal. If you have connections, you can try that first, say you want to apply and have them flag it internally after you do. They probably get a referral bonus and will be happy to help you.
I used a recruiter going small law to big law, but it cost me $$ in terms of no signing bonus. My friend didn’t use a recruiter and got a signing bonus.
However, I also used a connection after I applied with the recruiter and that probably helped more than the recruiter did tbh.
So idk. I loved my recruiter and it was nice to have someone managing the process for me. The recruiter can check in too in ways that if you did it, you’d look desperate. For example, checking in after an interview, etc.
I think if I was coming from mid law or big law I may have tried using a couple key connections first. Then, I would use a recruiter.
She did know the recruiting heads at all the firms and I like to think that helped?
Sorry I know this is a lot of info haha. TL DR = a recruiter may diminish a signing bonus but the support is nice. You don’t need one to negotiate comp. you can do that - but if you are aiming to go big law, aim for cravath scale. I didn’t bother applying to non cravath big law, that seems like worst of both worlds to me... (big law hours, less money)
Thanks so much for your detailed response! I really appreciate the insight!
IMO, it depends where you are coming from (small firm? Large?), and if you have any connections you can leverage at firms first. Can you provide more info?
Whoops, replied to you on the main thread.
