Those of you who exited forensics for more “traditional” or “vanilla” corporate/accounting/finance or similar roles in industry, do you have any regrets? The working world outside of forensics all seems so boring and mundane

I came back. No regrets leaving when I did (as a manager). No regrets coming back as a controller for less money to be a senior manager. It paid off and am very happy, but I definitely had some sleepless nights second guessing along the way.

Some companies can be very rigid. Way more so than B4. Some of that you’ll only realize once you’re on the other side.

I got 8 days of paternity leave when child was born. We only got 2 weeks of vacation. We frequently worked weekends, especially during close, and that was 100% in the office. We worked 7-7 M-F in suit/tie. One time I got yelled at for letting my team wear shorts in office over Memorial Day weekend while doing a GL conversion for forex reporting. I have a great appreciation for what B4 offers.

What does forensics DO? I did an internship once a very long time ago, but I only remember interviewing people and writing minutes. Oh and mapping out their process in Vizio.

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!
