I don’t think Covid is going away - so one way or another we have to adapt to life with it. Since we didn’t get to herd immunity before the virus was able to mutate, it’ll just keep outpacing our ability (or reticence) to get infront of it. 🤷♀️ I’m sure most offices will move to a hybrid model of 2-3 days a week. Agree it’s untenable if masks are required in the office. I suppose over time people can get used to anything but… not something I would relish. I kind of want a mandate to go back at least some of the time to get me outta the wfh routine. Anyone else out there feel this way or is it just me?
True. And yet…
Yup. Only a handful of us went in recently for a 1 day meeting and right away, someone tested positive. And on my packed train home that day, literally 2 people within a 3ft radius were hacking up a lung and 1 of them was without a mask. I love you NYC but after that, I’m good for now.
SP1-Went to the city on the train for a doc appointment (not even for work) and I said no thank you, I can’t do this on a regular. F that.
Chief
I dont think people are going back in sept anymore.
I didn't hear that, but I'm not surprised. We're hybrid right now but a few of my team members haven't been coming in after how they handled the two positive cases. There's been some passive aggressive-ness from those still going in
My agency just sent an email today saying they’re pushing the return back beyond September. Currently indefinitely. I’m sure most will follow suit.
No way I’m going back to the office right now. I can’t imagine taking the subway to work right now, most people wear masks in each car, but there’re always one or two people who refuse to.
I don’t think it’s happening. Especially not until kids under 12 can be vaccinated.
I have friends at Johannes and from the sounds of it they aren’t giving up much ground as far as postponing going back. Same with Mullen.
Droga is still pushing early Sept.
Pretty sure Publicis are about to postpone.
Still September but now we all have to wear masks if we aren’t at our desks due to city mandate! Just push the date
I don’t know, right now that signals safety to me. But I don’t want to do it in an office when I could be at home
Pub just announced there is no firm date now, and they will reassess in Q4. Offices remain open but masks are required.
From someone on the office since june I can tell you that your are not the only one that think this is rushed, however hard to go against while all my coworkers are going to concerts and parties. I understand that leadership thinks we are ready to work if people are out and about having fun.
Svp. Right. I do think it should be open but not mandatory. However is not a choice here. Is that or the door. And I can’t afford losing a job now. At least I still have good creative opportunities that will make it easier to look for something new in the near future.
Agreed. It’s surprising to me how open and how far along this office trajectory in September people are on like the Delta variant isn’t a thing.
Moved out west and my manager said to come back “near the office” regardless of the back to office being pushed lmao what’a joke
Instead of 2 weeks, really?
