100%. I have worked for independent agencies that had leaders who don’t inspire and cannot teach which essentially means they cannot manage and even communicate effectively to a degree. It is demoralizing and many have quit and left those agencies and eventually those leaders have left as well.
Many leaders become leaders because they are smart and experienced in their specific role/area of expertise but that doesn’t mean you will be a good leader.
I have seen many who are specialist in their area that are frankly bad leaders and managers.
You don’t have to be the smartest or most knowledgeable to be a good leader and manager.
