Layoff in IQVIA?
@iqvia
Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

I’d advise against feeling terror, though I know it’s easier said than done. We need to take this time day by day. But that feelings unshakable. So doomsday prep for it, update your book and resume, etc. Use the time as best you can. Keep yourself busy and your mind active rather than stewing.
I feel ya, the gyms closing hurts me too Bc weigh-training is my outlet as well. As for that I’m taking on some of those month long challenges like push up challenge, stuff like that. Best of luck to you and everyone else going through this strange and unprecedented time.
Breathe. You’re going to be OK.
Wow, thank you so much. I’ll hope I never have to reach out to you about that, but I certainly will if it comes to it.
I feel like one of the few positives ways to look at this economic downturn is that there aren’t any fundamental issues with our financial system that are causing it.
So when we can get a handle on the virus, if we can manage to stave off too much damage in the meantime, the economy should rebound relatively quickly.
My hunch is that there will be a window of time when everyone can feel relatively secure about the future and the market will still be playing catch up. I’m waiting for that to invest any more, personally.
Yeah, we’re all with you. I can say from personal experience, I’ve been laid off twice, and both times SUCKED. And I’m afraid of it happening again. BUT it’s manageable. You’ll get unemployment benefits for 6 months, which will buy you some time to look for new opportunities, or in this case, maybe wait out this pandemic period. It’ll be rough, but not as bad as you might think!
Are you me?
