Hi fishes,I have around 5.2 yrs of hands on exp in data engg. and able to clear service based companies interviews easily. Now I want to switch to product based companies as I am looking for some good work, good salary but I am not really strong in dsa as it's not part of my daily work.I don't really use trees and graphs as part of my daily work.
How shall I switch to product based companies considering DSA is their 1st round itself.what level of DSA can I expect from companies for data engineer position?

I’m very familiar with that industry. I’ve known a bunch of former reps for UR, they all say that it’s not a good company to work for. Also that their equipment condition is terrible. The turn over in rental reps is high across every equipment rental company, even the new companies. They promise you the world, but you get a fraction of what they promise. If you are good with $60-70k a year, you’ll probably be ok, if you are like me and are used to double that, you aren’t going to have a good time.
Also, like someone else said, it really depends on your area. The company I went to took a really small territory only suited for 1 salesman, and flooded the market with reps. Now it’s hard for anyone to make money.
Used to work here. Depends a lot on how much happens in your district. I think base is 30k. Also you might build a good book of business only to find it gets split to another rep. The upper end is low 6 figures.
It’s really really Depends on the department you’re in and the territory you have. Both our reps are 150k+ before really working too hard, but our area is impeccable 😅
Our problem is reps not feeling the need to generate new business because of their existing BOB🤦♂️.
My experience has been that you’ll make the most money working for an OEM dealer that has a large rental fleet, rather than one of the “National Rental Companies” plus your upward opportunity for a pure equipment sales position where you’ll easily make a lot more money are there. Good luck! It’s a great industry if you’re cut out for getting your hands dirty & long hours. Weekends, holidays and true “vacations” are non existent. If you have a family, truly make sure that your wife and kids are good with this lifestyle decision. If you’re going to be in the top 5% income wise, you absolutely will miss things with your family. Not trying to discourage you, just telling you the facts after putting in 30 years in the industry. If I can help you with any questions or advice, please reach out to me!
Hello I do have question.
where can I reach out to you ?
Commission based
What’s the starting salary for someone in the climate control division as a sales rep?
I’ve never made less than 200K most I’ve hit was 535K. It’s a sales commission job. You can make a great living but the work / life balance is terrible
Sadly- extremely competitive- back stabbing and company pits each other against each other NOT A FAMILY ATMOSPHERE! One of the worst Fortune 500 ever worked for- Major Midwest platters all talk about each other! Mentally abusive! Is it worth YOUR HEALTH worth it? i got out quick!
The base salary is a joke. Most competitors pay twice as much. They recently decided to take large projects away from outside reps and give the to key account managers. That’s bad enough but they are paying the jams a lower commission on those large projects than they paid osrs. No raises. No bonuses. No contest money. If the no compete clause gets overturned United rentals will lose half there sales force
