Unlimited PTO seems like a trap, know anyone that has that benefit? Do they use more than 3-4 weeks anyways?

Already shown that it's a way for the in crowd to take as much time off as they want and everyone else takes less time then they did before because they are afraid of how it's going to look

I think the point is you either have a work ethic or you don’t. You’re either vested in the success of the business or you’re not. Anyone who actually cares about their business/clients wants to go to work for them. I’ve been in both salary and commission firms. When I had “vacation days” it almost seemed like you’re supposed to the X amount of days off. I have haven’t had vacation days in twelve years, so I don’t keep an exact tally, but every year I feel like I don’t take any more or less time than I did when it was being tracked. But I think the only way this works is for people who take pride (and ownership) in their career. If you have an assistant who just “punching the clock” then unlimited PTO sounds like a nightmare (or a dream come true for that person).

like

What brokerage gives you paid time off?!? Everyday can be a vacation day if it want it to be, but I’m not getting paid!

like

I offer unlimited PTO to all of my employees. I had one employee who wouldn’t take vacation so I gave his daughter a week long vacation to Disney World for her family. Daddy had to go. You people are cynical. Geesh.

Wait, I’m not sure I understand.. an employee can take off as many days as they like and they are all paid?!?!

If that’s the case, what happens when an employee leaves the company? They just say they still work there and have a second job? Or if they get disabled, they get paid till age 65?

Is anyone concerned the push for sexual equality in pay without accordant leveling of parental leave is gonna backfire?

Here’s a hypothetical:

A company has 2 candidates, aged 25-30, equal in every respect save one’s a man the other’s a woman. Maybe the woman is a slightly better candidate overall. They’d have equal comp.

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷

Is your firm treating 12/26 and 12/27 as firm holiday since the 24th and the 25th are during the weekend this year? Of course client demands would dictate whether people will be working, but curious what the official policy is. For what it’s worth, my firm treated the day after thanksgiving as holiday and I didn’t have to work for the whole day.

Not nearly enough messages. Was a senior when I had a kid...so nice of KPMG to NOT tell me the way to properly submit for parental leave back in the day.

I recently received an offer for 200k€ in Amsterdam. Includes travel, 30% ruling, holiday pay.

Any idea if that is enough to cover a mortgage on a flat within biking distance from the city center without over spending on housing?

Starting a new job next month, and considering taking two days off for kids’ spring break next month. Not sure whether it’s appropriate to request time off for a new job (I would’ve preferred not to take any time off for first three months). I may just be able to just ask for a single Friday off (so 1 day rather than 2 days).

Any thoughts on whether I should proceed with the request? I just came from big law and want to make sure I’m not making a bad impression on my colleagues.

Hi guys, Could you please help me out on what to be filled here, I've 3 years of experience and I don't think I would be falling under gratuity that will be '0'. My HRBP dose not respond at all I've been trying to contact her from weeks and there's no response to any of mails nor pings on teams. I really appreciate you for helping me fill this?

I have a possible opportunity at Protiviti. Coming from big4 and wondering if Protiviti has fairly similar perks. I’ve read the 2022 benefits guide and it gave a oddly low PTO count of 16 days. Is this true and what about a holiday disconnect in the December time period? Are there any other hidden perks that are awesome? Already heard WLB is better and the culture, but I feel like I’ve gotta find that out first hand. Protiviti
