Pro forma or proforma?
Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

Until tech as an industry leaves the Bay Area. CoL is a byproduct of income in the area.

Tell me about it :’(
I asked this in 1999 😑 Look for roommates, areas that are less central (eg campbell, Milpitas, Hayward) or compromise on the size of the property that you’re looking to rent. It’s a high-income in-demand area. in some micro-neighborhoods, fortunately covid has forced many prices lower than they have been in 10 yrs so as bad as this looks, ie was probably worse pre-March 2020

These absolutely are lower prices than pre covid if you’re talking about rentals. Rents have dropped substantially.

You work in tech, you are part of a two income household, you have family money, or you leave. I would never recommend moving to the Bay Area without a hhi of >$250k. The col is just too high.
Deloitte 1 nailed it. Or go to deep outer suburbs: gilroy, concord, Stockton, Pacifica, Sacramento, Vallejo, etc. Any family-sized property in a highly desirable area (new 49ers stadium, near many tech HQs) is going to be at market-leading rates. I’m actually surprised it’s not closer to 4800-6500 Did you do any research before moving?
Lol. I haven't moved yet. Looking at a potential move. Single parent, not 250k lol
My other option is beloved Houston.
But Fremont has family so really wanted to move there and started exploring....
Might have to get myself an interview with Google for this move haha
