Valid exit options from firms like Bernstein Litowitz/Robins Geller? Is in-house still on the table or is securities litigation not particularly valued by in-house roles vs. general commercial litigation?

I know people who have gone inhouse from major securities lit firms, but they are unusual. Often these are lit-specialized in house roles. A transitional position is often helpful.

I would think your knowledge of the securities laws would make you a valuable commodity in the industry-house market for any company that does SEC reporting.

Perhaps corporate governance/board advisory roles? I see a few of those that value securities backgrounds.

I work in a firm that is known for litigation defense. I’ve been developing my own plaintiffs practice as well. I am able to pay the bills with my hourly defense work, which gives me time to focus on a handful of high value PI case a year on contingency. I was recently negotiating a case and was told part of the reason the claims rep/OC was jerking me around was because they didn’t see me as a plaintiffs attorney. Is there any way to change this perception or does it just come over time?
