WFH lawyer looking to move anywhere between Denver- Boulder in late October. Would like to stay as close to the mountains as possible. Looking to spend about $2k a month though that can vary depending on what utils are included. Not sure if I'm better off in a house or an apartment situation. I see a lot of nice apartment communities but a lot of them have terrible reviews. Any thoughts? Recommendations? I'll be in Colorado in early Sept for 2 wks so planning to go see units then.

I recommend Timber Apts in Boulder. Might be more than 2k for a 1bd though

like

Same, I just moved from there and miss it already.

$2k gets you a much nicer apt than house. I suggest avoiding the massive apt complexes.

Stay away from greystar. If you want to be in/near the mountains, look at Golden, Evergreen, Morrison, Loveland, Louisville, Longmont, Boulder, and even Granby. Denver is nice for doing things but if you’re looking for more of the mountain town vibe you’re not going to get it there! I would also consider your situation—do you have any pets? Are you going to get a dog/cat? What are your interests? Do you already know people or looking to make friends?

PwC1 good notes, thanks!!

Golden might be what you're looking for. We live in Longmont and it's really nice but not the closest to the mountains. We still need to drive about an hour to rocky and more if going towards 170.

Hi fishies,

I am a digital marketing professional with 4 years of experience. I was really frustrated in my current job due to extreme level of micro management and no growth career wise, so I have resigned on 3rd October. Tomorrow, after a meeting with ceo I will get to know how many days of NP I have to serve.
It would be really helpful if I could get referral from you guys.

I am ready to take remote jobs & even relocate to Bangalore or Pune.

My family and I have been looking to move to an island. My spouse works remote and can relocate at any time. My firm has an office on said island, but they don’t pay me enough to live there. I would have to ask for a raise and to be relocated. I love my firm and the Partners that I work for, but I’m thinking of applying to other places that offer a more livable salary for the location. Would you just talk to the Partners at your current firm or look elsewhere?

Colleague has put in his resignation. They are offering him whatever he wants to stay including 4days a week work from home. He’s not bluffing and plans to leave. However, at this same time I was asked to begin working as a supervisor for the engineering team and I would get a promotion at the beginning of the year. I have been supervising and managing our team of 6 for months with no extra pay or bonuses. I was told yesterday that raises will be light this year. Yet today they spare nothing.

Anyone has insights into whether we can claim depreciation for our “home office” due to WFH? Not an expert here but looks like it’s for self employed individuals only, but maybe the individual tax experts in this community can help everyone out a bit 🤪

Hello! I recently applied for a Travel Procurement Senior Manager role at PwC (role is in NYC and I’m not NYC-based but I believe certain roles can be primarily remote). I have 5+ years of experience in this field and the description/company culture seem like a perfect match to what I’m looking for. Are there any fish from PwC and/or their talent acquisition team that can provide a reference post-submission and insight on the hiring process? Thanks!!

I see a therapist and have their support in school accom. I appear high functioning and ever since uni went remote my life and performance has only improved. I know I’m capable of getting the work done and they must see potential if they hired me. But I feel that if I ask for WFH or other accom. I’m gonna be shooting myself and my career in the foot.
