What are past successful workplace inclusion initiatives that you’ve seen or started? Esp ones that aren’t forced

Lots of right wing hysteria about liberals trying to engineer equality of outcome to correct sexual/racial inequities (in higher ed, for example). I think we all want socioeconomic, gender and racial barriers to opportunities to be addressed, but no significant number of people really believe in equality of outcome right? This is just a straw man argument.

Hi everyone, I work for large startup (300 employees) and I have been asked to develop a Progressive HR manual template. Some examples include gender neutral restrooms, lactation rooms, signing off emails with pronouns, and etc. Any tips/links for resources to help would be appreciated.

General question: Is there any room in corporate America for real, actionable DE&I discussions and initiatives? I've observed so many corporate versions become an advertising strategy (SM posts, diversity reports) without doing the actual work (increasing representation in senior leadership, salary analyses, having an effective reporting system for bias). Is this just how it is?

Do you think diversity training actually works? I can't tell if it's just a way to tick a liability box or if it's actually effective.

I’m still trying to process seeing an agency exec well known for dismissing and ignoring POC held up as an exemplary diversity champion for women at the 3% Conference.

Great use of the AP Style Book and Libel Manual here… “Let’s just be clear. ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ is not about black or white or brown. Not about melatonin. Not color at all because I’m not sure how to ‘call’ my Persian, Indian or Thai friends. Would you say ‘yellow?’ I don’t think so. Token token token is broken broken broken broken. It is about opportunity. A fair opportunity and right to the same opportunity. This is what is broken. It goes deeper. Much deeper. Get real. Emancipation.

Would you categorize this industry as diverse? I was just reading an article on USA Today that centered around the lack of diversity in finance, especially in positions of power. I’d have to agree with them based on what I’ve noticed.

While in my job hunt, I notice there are much more open roles for mid and sr level creatives. What’s the best way for a jr to get their foot in the door.

It seems as though entry level/junior roles in the industry are slowly disappearing. How can young people who haven’t managed to get their foot in the door yet actually start? For not so recent grads.

I had a creative Director question my worth and said the only reason I’m in this industry is because of MAIP (as if it was a bad thing). I been unsure how I should handle it and would love advice❤️
