What is more important in terms of utilization? Full or effective?

My full utilization is 40%, but I'm not even worried.

like

I think it used to be full but recently they changed it to effective.

Yeah effective matters more now

What is the difference again? Effective counts pro?

Pto*

Effective takes out PTO, if you take off 8 hrs Friday your utilization is counted out of 32 hrs

Oh ok thanks guys! I've been out sick this week and missed a whole week of busy season.. Trying to make up my hours but don't know if my rates will be too low/negatively impacted

Full utilization is the only metric that matters.

Only full has been discussed in every round table or review conversation Ive been in.

At the end of the day, if you are low just document the reason why with your counselor.

They changed it this year so effective will be the focus.

Where did you hear that EY6? Certainly doesnt match what I saw at mid-years.

At least in central region all goals at the beginning of the year were distributed based on effective, number on your desktop changed to effective, and there were a few more communications than normal about effective vs full. Maybe a regional thing?

Maybe it depends on region? We used effective at last round table and have effective utilization goals, we got some emails about it around the last round table

Are you ranked down a level if you don't meet your utilization goals? I had a lot of hours in other activities recruiting/counseling events, so that's one reason mine might be on the lower side

No, not necessarily. How far off your goal are you and what level? If you are concerned definitely talk to your counselor now to understand what your group prioritizes

I'm a staff 2 in assurance. Current full rate is 70% as of the last report and average rate in my region is about 83%. I'm sure I can increase it within the next few months but I'm just concerned since it's a promo year. My effective rate is 5% below the average

I’m struggling. I left an agency I liked last year due to growth limitations and since then I’ve worked at 2 different agencies and can’t seem to find my footing. I’m always raising my hand and offering to help where I can and no matter what I do, I don’t feel utilized or valued or part of the team. It’s really taken a toll on my confidence

Do you pay your credit cards in full every month?

I ask because I’ve let my credit spending get a bit lax since moving and adopting a puppy recently, so I haven’t been paying them off in full every month like I used to (though still well above the minimum payment, and keeping utilization at 30% or under). It got me thinking about how many people adhere to this advice.

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. It’s like they don’t know what to say or I make them feel awkward so they don’t bother…I’m trying to focus on a few that have been supportive but it’s hard…Any words of advice? 😞

Need advice: do you tell your manager that you’re unhappy or do you just leave?

I’m being taken advantage of with being thrown so much work and really don’t see my salary increasing to be in line with my coworkers doing similar work. I’m a consistent high performer - management reviews tell me that much.

My coworker did mention to the manager that they’re not being paid well for the work they do, and our manager took it personally and told them they’re ungrateful 🥲
