The best community managers are always learning. Whether it's from reading articles, attending workshops, or simply observing how other communities operate, there are always new lessons to be learned.
It's such a quickly evolving industry. People who don't keep up with news and trends can find themselves left behind in no time.
Learning to master the language of your community is very important, I don't mean the language literally, I mean that you talk about what they are really interested in, because that is the best way to keep them active and constantly interested.
Although you will often hear that speed is not always important, I disagree. It is very important to give quick answers and make the user smile or know that it is important.
I learned that you shouldn't run away from any problem and that deleting comments does nothing good for the brand, everything always comes to light.
I learned that a small but trustworthy community is better than 2 million followers.
During my internship, I learned that our decisions also have to influence the design sector, despite the existence of a graphic brand manual, our decisions must also be taken into account.
During all this time I learned that if you make a marketing strategy for 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year, it must be followed to the letter after being approved by both myself and others.
Many things, but one of the most important things is not to make drastic changes in the image or objectives of the brand, otherwise, you will surely manage to lose a large part of your safe community.
One lesson I learned that has made me a much better community manager is to always be authentic and genuine. When you're honest and open with your community, they will respect you and be more likely to trust you.
I learned that it's important to be consistent in your messaging and never waiver from your core values. This will help to build trust and loyalty among your community members.
Definitely the importance of communication. It is essential to keep your community engaged and informed by communicating with them regularly. This includes sharing updates on what your team is working on, responding to questions and feedback, and hosting events and activities. By communicating effectively, you can help build a strong and supportive community that is invested in your project.
I learned how important it is to actively listen to my community. By taking the time to listen to feedback and concerns, I am able to better understand what my community wants and needs from me. This allows me to be more responsive and effective in my role.
For me, one of the most important lessons has been that it's okay to make mistakes. As long as you're willing to learn from them and take corrective action, your community will appreciate your effort.
To value the time people are putting in. Websites and apps are all competing for attention, so people being willing to give theirs is more and more valuable. Understanding that, and remembering that people are taking time out of their lives to contribute is so important.
