I want to have enough money to drive a Range Rover and fly business class
What do you recommend a junior associate to aim for financially? Aside from the obvious paying off debt
Financial independence and early retirement in a low cost of living and warm place.
Basically if ROI on investments covers your annual spending. Hopefully own a house outright as well.
Provide a nice lifestyle for myself and survive as long as possible, then hopefully snag an in-house gig.
Work for a long time to build a lot of assets and pay for wife and children. Travel for a while before too old or dead.

I like the intellectual rigor of my practice. The level of sophistication of work in my practice area drops precipitously outside of Biglaw. To keep doing this stuff means moving up in large private firms, so partner. I guess I'd take an of-counsel role too.
3-5 years. Exit to fed clerk. Re-enter in state attorney general. Then Governor’s legal counsel. Then judge.
Or more likely none of that happens bc life.
Pay off debt, and build an empire of passive income, so I can put my mind at ease. Financial constraints keep alot of us beholden to Biglaw, and those financial constraints add to the anxiety of Biglaw. Once i’m free, who knows... I might not even like practicing law anymore lol
I want to have enough money to buy a 1988 Porsche RUF Flatnose.
Pay off student loans. Get to do intellectually challenging work. Support my family. I don't really care if that means becoming an income partner or an of counsel, as long as the money is there. Doubt I'll ever be an equity partner bc I'm not a big business developer, which is fine.
