Sounds like a solid move, they'd probably all blow you over there
God
Passing up on a wonderful trolling opportunity here - most likely direct admit Principal
Global Services
Has to be a - not gonna actually do it but want to feel good - post.
MBBD?
Well. I don't work at Deloitte but if you were specializing in Strategy at Bcg then Deloitte would value you very highly in a principal or higher role to continue to build out their services in their Monitor group. You could even shoot for partner at other firms. Example: BAH brought in a lot of principals from other firms as Partners to build their new commercial practice.
I know it's not Deloitte but we have a couple people who have come over from BCG. The one I know was a principal at BCG and is now a director at s& (will make partner faster than average). It's only one data point but my guess is a you'll get similar level at Deloitte with potential to fast track
@kpmg2 Exactly ^ very new and small part of our revenue. We actually had a KPMG partner join the commercial practice as a SVP last year in NYC
@KPMG, yes. The non-compete with Booz&Co post-spin-off in the commercial space has been over for years.
Mostly to continue the path in consulting for a better exit down the line. Don't think I have the relationships needed to make Partner here
Internally or client side?
OP - if you don't have the relationships at BCG, how will joining D help your career? You'll absolutely need relationships at D to be successful, particularly if you are coming in at Principal or Director level. Why will you be able to build relationships at D and not at BCG? All that being said, probably come in as direct admit Principal or Managing Director.
Probably depends. Do you have a specific skillset/industry expertise they want to build out? Even then, do you want to attract too much spotlight with an aggressive "Head of..." title?
No actually considering the move but want to know whether I get any upward mobility out of it
@ba1 BAH has a commercial practice...?
You may be a director if you have subject matter expertise. Then, depending on how senior of a principal you are here, you would likely be either a senior manager close to principal or a junior principal (partner at BCG).
Source: have worked at Deloitte.
BAH stole one of our MDs....he was a good guy
@OP, what factors are making you consider that move? I know a ton of people who would kill to travel the other direction
Yeah^ seconded. I also assume an MBB principal can get a great industry exit opp, but why move to a Big 4 to do more consulting with smaller clients, less influential projects, etc?
