My wife started as an M at Accenture earlier this year coming from industry. I’ve never worked at Accenture or any b4, but I had to explain to her how up or out works. She also didn’t know that she came in with 24 months at level and what that meant. Really surprised none of this was communicated during hiring or by her manager.

3/learn via coursera and focus on hands-on application for projects, build a portfolio, memorize leetcode

I’ve heard about the validity of this approach, but also recognize that I’m not the best at self-paced learning and need more structure :(
I think the Georgia tech master has a coding requirement. You have to be working as a software engineer already before applying for the cs master but I could be wrong. I am also trying to pivot out of here….
Don’t waste your money on any courses or bootcamps except maybe cheap intro courses on udemy/coursera. Do side projects and add them to your github/resume, and then pound leetcode.
Source: went from management consulting to faang swe last year without CS degree
GT for sure. The bootcamps are a total scam.
If you are 100% set on coding, then a mixture of 2 and 3. 1 is viable if you want to just open up your doors, but it does require a lot of time and hours.

Coding bootcamp then internship.
Even if you don’t have a STEM undergrad or graduate degree?

SWE is a very BROAD term that covers a lot of different technologies.
The best path is to specialize in a specific area/domain and then build a portfolio of work that you've done for clients or in the public domain (open source or otherwise).
That is worth way more than a degree.
+A metric fk ton of LeetCode since you’d be competing against others who do have a degree
