I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

A nice comfortable office chair.

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.

You sound like a tool
Don't worry, we won't be hanging out.
I love your honesty.
You can do the HBS Online credential of readiness. No GMAT, no real prep at all involved. But you get to pretend that you want to HBS and make cringey LinkedIn flex posts about being an HBS "alum"
In a similar boat. U Washington is an option - pipeline to big tech & no GMAT.
this is actually my area of expertise
Columbia SPS $$$
Penn LPS $$
Harvard ES $$
Oxford Continuing Ed $$
Cambridge ICE $$
GeorgiaTech data science/Cybersecurity $
those are the ones I’ve personally considered/have degrees from
From what I’ve gathered they have a pretty strong tech pipeline, outside of that I’m not really sure. MBA’s aren’t my specialty in particular, just prestige uni “backdoor” programs.
If you take the Executive Assessment (much diluted version of GMAT) you can still apply to Columbia FT, Darden FT and others.
There are plenty… and many will waive GMAT if you reach out to them and speak to your experience.

No MBA program worth its salt is pay to play. Also you don’t just simply exit to CSuite or Bigtech. You’d also be competing with all the MBB/T2s who have M7 MBAs. Check ur logic .

Those 2 years of weekends will be the best of your life, in a top mba program
I think what you're after is the "brand". You have all the skills (or will build them) as you progress through your career, your goal is to not be gated against a competitor as you exit to a FAANG position because you didn't have the fancy label on your resume. Any network or skills you build from it is a bonus not the core need.
Am I in the ball park ?
I can deeply empathize with you as I am (was) there - except I'm likely a lot older at 40 than you. I've been told - there's no marginal utility for me given my comp & c-suite connections. I'm still very curious what answers we get.
I somehow can't trust the AMP & cert programs H/S/W offer. I feel it's very binary you get the mba or you don't. The other stuff feels like a rip-off or people think you're a poser.
Sounds like an online mba
Is this meant to be satire?
I believe Kenan Flagler offers an 18 month accelerated online MBA with GMAT waiver
Trump University lookin ass.
Honestly love how candid this is lol.
Yea, most masters, continuing education, certifications, even at top schools are just pay mills 🧐 surprised about the some of the snark I'm getting for this.
How many people actually use what they learn in school anyway. Just calling it like I see it

Just get an M7 EMBA, same degree, free through EY
