When you give your notice is it normal for execs to stop caring about what you think? I gave my notice and was told extended time wasn’t necessary… my boss is new (3 weeks) and doesn’t know what I do… my peers are terrified but nobody VP and above cares about my 9 years’ of time with the company. I want to see them succeed, and I’m worried. Is this normal?

It speaks well of you that you're concerned, but it's not your problem, to be honest. You're moving on and if management doesn't see your experience as being terribly valuable that seems to say it all. Move on to the next thing and don't look back.

Your feelings are normal.

This tells me that you should create some sort of consulting gig with them. For every time they call, you bill so much.

But honestly, they will have a rocky road ahead but they will be fine. They probably have something in the works that they want to roll out with a restructure.

But give the person with 3 weeks a break, most folks are still swimming in new information the first month or two.

Yes, it’s normal to be given the cold shoulder and treated differently. It’s okay, they’re taking it personally, but it’s just business.

Left PA and started industry remotely. Haven’t been in the office. Met my team one time. Tips are to always be on video for even the smallest of calls. Take a ridiculous amount of notes. In downtime, go through your notes and come up with questions by reperforming old work. Set up recurring question sessions with your team so you know what to do next time. Set up performance meetings even monthly because it’s hard to get a gauge on your performance

I've been working at this company for about 3.5 weeks now. Its been great so far.

Healthcare corporations… please note you have more then 1 shift of workers. You have 3 most times, each shift has to be treated equally. This is and always have been an issue, and you cannot figure out why the other shifts refuse to be active and participate in anything and definitely not engaged anymore.

I had a great review and a 5.5% raise and a great bonus at my company. But I also got a new Director and a peer manager of mine left the company, so I will be absorbing her team. In addition, my director said I will be receiving 'deep delegation' from them. I don't mind more work, but deep delegation is a new term I've never heard. What does that mean lol?

My remit quadrupled+ in a recent re-org with no increase in pay/promotion, my new director is new to the company and was zero help, and I was passed over for recent promotion during the comp cycle. "Everybody can be a leader" some say... "Leaders are nurtured not born" say others... True.

But... this is also true: "not everybody wants to be a leader" (whether they can or can't be). It is a fairly common practice in organizations with traditional career management structures for people to "be promoted" into leadership roles as the "end steps of the corporate ladder" that was climbed doing technical work. And, unfortunately, this doesn't work all the time
