When you’re on a retainer client with a high quantity of work (often unplanned) how do you find it best to divide work up between a senior pm and the pm on the account? I don’t want each of us in too many meetings but also think it’s good for both to know where things are at on all projects.

CC record or meeting recaps. The same way companies allocate. It’s usually one pm as far as client facing but it doesn’t stop you from sharing the recording & recap.

Double handling for you both to go. We would split the workload and just update in WIP documentation and meetings. The more senior would get the more difficult or biggest briefs / actions.

Daily 15min touchbases where you run through your projects together and share updates/questions. Give the mid-level the majority of the straight/simple projects to run, Sr takes the more complex ones and stays available for scope convos, resource management, general flare-ups, and accessible for questions.

Cc each other on all recaps. Keep each other on all group chats. Don’t double-up in meetings unless there’s a big pivot in play.

I am an AE moving to a PM role at my agency.
