Super creepy. Agreed—children should have the right to privacy. Our parents took a ton of pictures of us but they were kept in photo albums, not shared all over social media. When my sister had a baby she requested that we ask permission before posting a picture of her newborn. At first I was like wtf?? That’s insane. But I totally get it now.. the world is an effed up place and there is no need to plaster your kids picture without their consent on social media
I have kids and agree with SA1
My opinion of social media is that it’s a pox. I respect other’s right to have a different opinion and use it, but I would be pissed if I found out someone created an account in my name and put my photos out there, hence it’s perfectly logical not to want to do that to your kid or to want to review what is posted if your kid.
There are also a lot of absolute creeps and psychopaths out there. Maybe not high volume but they are enabled to technology.
I’m sure they do it to connect with distant family/friends. Can take your cringe back judgey mcjudgeyson
Couldn’t they (parents) just use their own account to keep in touch with famiy/friends? I don’t see the need for kids, sometimes even infants or toddlers to have their “own” account.
My daughters are too young right now (both under 3), but I dread the day when they want to get social media.
