Hi all, I accepted a position at my current company that I've been at for four years as a PM starting at 95k flat. I'm located SLC so I feel like the salary is quite low. I think I will need to leave my current company to be paid fairly. Does anyone have advice on how to move externally when you've been at the same company for so long? Are there any mentors out there who could help connect me with the tech scene?

How valuable is a designer that can code?

I’ve always enjoyed coding (only ever doing some basic javascript, php, etc on personal websites) and recently started learning Flutter to make an app I’ve designed.

Does knowing how to code increase my earning potential? Would switching to engineering (with a strong design background) make me more valuable (once I have enough engineering experience)?

For reference, I make $160k in SLC, UT area.

Planning to spend a weekend in SLC. I’ve never skied in Utah, planning to stay in park city. Hotels are Sooooo expensive! Recommendations on where to stay!!

Where in the US would you look for a great house for $300-400k?

Got an offer from Accenture for entry level HR. Also interviewing with Goldman Sachs, and they recently emailed me regarding an opening I might be great fit for in SLC for a Finance Controllers position. Long term goals include Business School and pivoting to tech/mgt consulting. I know I can do the career switch within Accenture, but I’m afraid it might take too long (3-4 yrs) to make that happen. I don’t know if wanna do HR forever. I’m currently in school for BS-Mgt. Need advice please.

CW -> FTE. I currently make $62/hr as a CW at Meta. Two weeks PTO after 90 days. What comp should I ask for when I apply for FTE? My title is project manager (tho previous title was PgPM III at PayPal, I live in SLC and will stay remote. 10+ years PM experience, ~5 in tech.

On my way to/from a ski trip at Park City, I may have a day to spend in Salt Lake City (possibly Christmas Day). Keeping in mind weather and religious holiday, what would you recommend for one day in SLC. Would we even find restaurants open there on Christmas Day?

We are going to buy a Delta gift card as a graduation gift (recipient is based out of SLC). I’ve flown Delta like once or twice in my life so I know nothing … is there any avenue to maximize the gift (for example, sales, discounts, promos such as lounge access with purchase)?

Thinking about buying a second rental property or a vacation home/airbnb type thing in southern utah (I live in the slc area). I own one rental near my house, so buying another apartment or townhome in SLC is a fairly easy endeavor. However, buying a place in another city as an investment / vacation home is not something I'm at all knowledgeable about. Any advice or warnings would be appreciated.

Heard back through the recruiter on 10/8 and just got my HireVue last night (10/13) and completed it today 10/14. Both of the positions are currently saying “Resume Under Review”

Any insight to this at all? How long it’s taken to get a super day invite back? How soon after did you get a rejection or offer?
