Big 4 to West Monroe transition thoughts/experiences? (E.g. WLB, benefits, culture, projects, etc) TIA!
Could anyone share how the pension at big4 works? Considering lateral move from tier 2 to MD at big4 advisory. Would be $100k bump from $650 to $750. Everyone keeps telling me that the pension is compelling, but it’s still not clear to me how it works.
My current vested pension balance is about 15k. Is this the amount I receive if I opt for a lump sum?
I got an offer for an Amex Platinum card, and I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth the $550 fee. If you carry a personal Amex Platinum: 1. What are the benefits you use the most? 2. Did you get a companion card, given the $175 fee?
Saw an email today about the Pension and click on the link. Saw I have some money in there. I’m 100% vested. I was wondering how does the Pension work? If I decide to leave do i get a check?
Just received an offer for 95k base as a staff analyst at EY. Currently in industry (finance) my TC last year was just under 100k. Not thrilled as EY’s benefits are worse than my current firm and TC is likely to be the same. I’m not happy at my current firm and I know this isn’t the norm but EY seems to have a better WLB. What do people think about the offer? EY rep seems to think there is not a lot of flexibility to negotiate, this seems to be near the top. Should I ask for a signing bonus?
I am depressed in my choice of career. I wake up, work, log off, work out, sleep. When I think about what could have been: doctor, pharmacist, another healthcare provider I become depressed because I work an arbitrary desk job.
Please compare some of the benefits between Deloitte and KPMG. Eg. PTO, Fitness Subsidy, Travel related (Alternate travel etc.), and any other benefits that you might be aware of.
Do you use your work computer for personal things like email, web browsing, paying bills, online purchases, investments, watching YouTube / Netflix etc? Are these things actively monitored / has anyone had any repercussions? My personal laptop died so not sure if I can do these things on my work laptop or if it’s too risky. Also a bit of a gray area for some activities; I wouldn’t see an issue w/checking 401k / retirement accounts, but what about checking personal investments? TIA
Any EY fishes out there willing to chat/submit referrals? Saw a few positions that I would like to apply for. For background, have 9 years of consulting experience, 3-4 are in healthcare. Appreciate the help!
If I leave a firm and am losing out on $40K of unvested 401k matches, can that full amount be negotiated as a sign on bonus for the new role? Or are unvested retirement balances typically not made whole?

Just got invited to apply for a role at Mckinsey, Specialist - Healthcare Private Equity. Is this a consulting role or a support role? Client-facing? I am an Associate at a middle market private equity fund, anyone have an idea of what kind of comp this role world be? Thanks in advance for any answers here.
Hey BCG, first of all congrats to the PLs. We’re all jealous over here. Have seen a lot of ranges like 290-350k for a 1Y but that includes 401K which we don’t count in our cash comp. What’s the final breakdown of base + bonus for target 1Y PL? Ours was around 180+60 last year so only 240 total. And that doesn’t even take effect upon promotion, only at EOY

Can someone confirm this? Also, what do you expect the restructuring to look like?
Are there any professional benefits or advantages to being an awkward person? I feel like I'm very socially awkward and curious if I should get a coach to help me be less awkward.
Folks, I need your suggestions to make a choice 1- Resign and then wait for my joining in next firm in May end. 2. Use two weeks leave and then resign, giving me two weeks paid vacation. Factors: In a critical large project where everyone is working 13-15 hours, will probably burn bridges with client as well as my current firm Already Burnt out with crazy hours and 2 weeks vacation will really help Two weeks without Health insurance during a pandemic doesn't seem to be great idea.
