Anyone use a managed Roth IRA or 401k? What company and what’s your experience?

Got my MBA from a local school before pivoting my career into consulting. Are there any programs worth taking at a top tier school for the name/ brand recognition that benefits the resume and network?

Growth equity or T2 consulting? Long term comp and exit opps. Don't care about WLB. I know GE isn't as high as PE but I don't know the benefits or other specifics.

Is there anywhere I can see a detailed breakdown of my salary (e.g., how much goes to taxes, how much to health insurance)? I feel it’s less than it should be when it hits my bank account. Making 140k with 6% going to my 401k, living in NYC. I only receive 3k every two weeks but think it should be around 3.2k (working at Deloitte)

Does AON give reimbursement to employees for phone/internet?

Hey guys so I'm about to go on Maternity leave but getting a Lot of offers. How should I tell them I'd be interested in future but cannot right now ?? Should I mention maternity or another excuse .

For Deloitte’s mobile program, do they pay the monthly plan? Or do I put it on my corporate or personal card and get reimbursement?

Is this lifestyle worth it? I can afford maxing all retirement accounts (60k 401k, 3k HSA, 6k IRA), rent and groceries and it leaves me with 250 dollars a month leftover for “fun”. Which goes quick in NYC. Hoping future me thanks me but am I wasting my 30s living so frugally?

I’m currently being considered for a job and received a call last week from HR to discuss the organization’s health/retirement benefits and what my salary expectations are. Still no official offer yet, but I was told that the process could take some time. Is the call from HR a good sign? I’m nervous about how long it’s taking for the organization to officially say whether they’d like to move forward with me or not.

How is working at Grant Thornton? Benefits? Etc?

Do you have to sign the non compete contract? Is it negotiable? This is my first time being asked to sign one and it makes me nervous

- AD job offer with evaluation for Director in 6-8 months
- Boutique data and analytics consulting company focused in healthcare tech for clinical trial, hcp/patient targeting, etc
- Non-compete for 12 months after termination (specifies working for competitor but I isn't that the whole health consulttech industry?)
- I live in an enforceable state

I’m 24 and I have 60k that I’m looking to invest somewhere. I’m already maxing out roth, put 14% with 6% match in 401k and put an additional $250 per month in a brokerage account. Also have additional savings/rainy day fund that gets contributions but I was wondering if anyone has ideas for what to do with this additional money. Thanks!

Anyone else ever feel like despite making decent money, you just can’t get ahead? I’m generally a pretty frugal person, rent in a LCOL area, no debts, and do contribute to 401K/other savings. But every month it feels like I’m desperate to get paid so I can pay off my credit card bill in full. I have had quite a few medical bills as of late so that’s contributing. Anyone have any tips to get ahead and how to save more aggressively? TIA

Should I join a T2 consulting firm or a health tech startup doing analytics?

I'm currently at a healthcare boutique and I'm debating between these 2 options. I'm trying to optimize for exit ops and business school placement.

They have similar comp but at the T2 I'll mainly be doing CDDs whereas at the startup I'll gain more technical skills since I'll be doing analytics. The T2 is more of a "brand" but I feel like I'll gain more hard skills from the startup.

Advise? I just got promoted to sr manager, and about to have my first baby in January. Thinking of how stressful life would be again after returning to work after maternity leave makes me wanna quit and be a Starbucks barista (I did that in college as part time job and absolutely loved it 😂). Everyone around me thinks I could be a partner if I keep trying. But I have so much insecurity and feel like I don’t have it in me. Should I change to an easier career or try to climb that ladder? IDK 😭

Why do people love CSR? Isn’t it max 1.5% cash back (on travel)? Why wouldn’t you just use a 2% cash back card for everyday spending?

I understand the benefits of having the card (lounge, etc.), but why use it for your everyday spending?

Has anyone’s company switched over to Meritain for health insurance - or know when one might? I’m so confused by what it will mean for me; it’s clear the company should save money but I’m not clear on how

Amex card has been frozen for months, ~11k on personal cards for biz travel still waiting on reimbursement, 2+ months of auditor hell on expensing, and at this point I don't even invest outside of my 401k/HSA because it's too much of a pain from a reporting standpoint.

These client offers for 70% higher TC are looking more and more appealing each day

I’m 23, earn 3.5k net a month, pay off mortgage of 900 a month and save 500 & invest abt 1k a months. 401k savings are mandatorily made by the employer in my country, amounting to about 60/month own contribution and 180/month of your employer.
In fishbowlian terms, I’m poor af. Should I switch to higher a paying job?

Trying to figure out the move here. Around 1 year post-MBA as a project lead at a healthcare boutique. I have an offer from LEK that would be a step down, but +40-50k total comp. However, I think I can only make a move from one firm to another once, and I'm trying to maximize for exit opps and LEK exit opps would not be substantially better than my current firm, plus it would set me back in terms of progression timeline. Do I take the new role, or wait it out and shoot my shot for MBB later?

How should one best politely and respectfully turn down an offer, esp. when the respective company was very accommodating, frequently confirmed their willingness to hire one and were transparent with their intentions all along? Reason is that I see a better fit with a different company (on the grounds of development and benefits)

Found out on the first day after my maternity leave that I will be RIF’ed due to a restructuring. All more senior colleagues in my department are RIF’ed, only some select juniors will be retained. Thoughts on what I should consider? Do I even have any rights?

Currently working in London for a large consulting firm. Manager asked me to relocate to the US to go work for another branch & local clients. I’m unsure if crossing the pond for a higher pay check is worth it over hardly ever seeing my family again. The pay would be triple of what I get now, although I’d lose some of my health insurance. Any pointers on the Digital Advisory work at AlixPartners in the U.K.? I assume benefits will be more or less same as compared to other consulting firms but how does it rank as compared to MBB (people and WLB)?

Ultra minimalists: what are you carrying for a wallet and in your wallet?
I have a slim wallet but thinking of reducing further.
Driver's license and 1 cc are the bare minimum.

But I keep wondering about:
Auto insurance card
Health insurance card
A $100 bill for unforeseen emergency

But perhaps I don't need them?

Does anyone use one of those phone case minimalist wallets?
What do you have in it?
