Hello Verizon fellows, In Deloitte, there's a facility to claim a certain reimbursement for purchasing mobile devices through their portal or something. Similarly, do VDSI employees have any discounts or reimbursement for purchasing devices through Verizon? If so, kindly let me know how to check it out. Thanks in advance.

First of congratulations on your baby! Secondly don’t overstress yourself from this moment itself! Your journey will be your decision and as of now enjoy motherhood as much possible. I’m sure you’ll be a great mom and a (work) partner one day! Don’t trouble yourself with those decisions at this time
Think about this after your parental leave ends and you try out balancing career and family. Don't just think in terms of better wlb, but also the opportunities you'll be able to afford for your kid(s) one day. It'll be much easier to pay for college after being partner for 15 years, though you might have been in Pittsburgh and missed the first steps.
Honestly, don't think about it now. Wait until after you have your baby. Your mentality changes significantly after you have a kid (and I'm assuming it's your first child but I might be wrong) so your thought process might be very different in a few months. Also, congrats!
Write a pros & cons list now pre-delivery. Then write a second one post delivery about a month in.
Then write another one after you return to work. When you've been at work for about a month or 2 look at all three lists and se circle what matters most to you. Then only weigh those pros against those cons. Then have a discussion with your partner about what it means to honor those things and work thru them (whether that's quitting, staying, changing industries, or whatever.)
Most importantly, remember you are never stuck.
On a separate note, if you're insecure, then you should seek therapy. We don't need more insecure senior leaders.
Take each day as it comes, go with the flow. You don’t need to make any binary decisions about partnership vs barista right now: it’s always daunting going back to work after (each!) baby but I’ve always found my feet very quickly and enjoyed the dual brain space of baby/family and clients/consulting.
As an aside, there was a page I was issued at a hospital visit once and I think of it any time I’m inclined to make a life altering decision:
“Do not make any life altering decisions that would impact your home, relationships or work in the next 48 hours”. And I extrapolated that to apply to the entire pregnancy and postpartum!
There’s so much change happening, just need to take each day as it comes.

Off topic - who is laughing on the comments? Fail to understand what is humorous here? 🧐
I did want to come here and point out that the options are not crazy hard working consulting partner or barista. There’s a lot in the middle to consider too…. E.g., move to industry.
