Is this lifestyle worth it? I can afford maxing all retirement accounts (60k 401k, 3k HSA, 6k IRA), rent and groceries and it leaves me with 250 dollars a month leftover for “fun”. Which goes quick in NYC. Hoping future me thanks me but am I wasting my 30s living so frugally?

You’re wasting your 30s. You’re just making an insane nest egg for whoever survives you. Enjoy it while you’re alive

Have some fun - maybe 1k spending per month , and if you don’t use all of that put it in a savings account

like

It's not a all or nothing situation. Get a little more fun if you like to do so and that's OK if you don't max out all accounts. Hopefully salary will go upward and you'll do it all soon.

I also like to save a lot but Personally I’d get that down a bit and have at least 1k per month

Depends on how happy you are now? And if you'll be able to get to retirement.

You are young, enjoy it. This time will never come back and before you know it, you will be buying diaper bags. Don’t have to max out all retirement accounts at this age.

Need advice. Have some credit card debt that I’ve been working to pay off. Have made progress but want to lower it quickly. We have dual income, with a house (~$300k in equity), 1 kid and 1 on the way. I’ve looked into debt consolidation via HELOC but also have ~$80k in vested equity in my company that I haven’t touched. Get equity refreshes every year. Would it be smarter to cash out $15k-$20k of that to pay debt vs. a HELOC at ~5% given that will still require mthly payments

I’ve been working for my State Farm agency as a team member for 2 years. I am licensed in property and casualty as well as life and health, but only make $13 an hour. I technically can make bonuses but I’m not supposed to dig into a sale and I have to send it to a sales rep (I am service and retention mostly). My boss also has me running a retired agents office until a new one is chosen (its an hour away with no pay increase or mileage pay). Also, no benefits! Should I start job searching?

Hey fishes, can someone tell me how the 80c bracket works, i know i can get exempt upto 1.5lakh under it, what i wanna know is does PF comes under it or not? For example if my yearly pf deduction is 20k and VPF is 10k so now will i still be able to show investment of 1.5lakh under 80c apart from PF and VPF or i'll be able to get exemption on only 1.2 lakh( 1.5lakh-30k= 1.2lakh)?

Thank you in advance!!

It also says there may be financial penalties.

Here is my dilemma: I was passed up for manager promo last year and rightfully so a lot of my feedback was definitely correlated to me not properly handing my symptoms causing a good bit of inconsistencies in my performance especially if I lacked interest. Name the most ridiculous micro-managing by partners that you experience.

I’ll go first: MP told me that on initial emails, I am always to start with “Hello [name],” but after the initial email, I am not to address her by name again in the same thread. Initial greeting can only be “Hello [name] ” because just first name is too brisk and a “Hi [name]” is too informal. Had a 5 minute, in depth conversation as to why she prefers it this way…
