There is a fone line between being interested in healthcare consulting and being interested in anything other than healthcare consulting. See what I did there ?

I have the United explorer credit card. One of the benefits is free checkin luggage for myself and companion., 1. Is that true for every trip I ever take ? 2. Do I need to pre book or can I claim this privilege at the airport ?

401k question - I know I can only pay $20,500 each year tax free but can I pay more in and get taxed or something? When I set it up it recommends 12% of salary which is going to hit the limit pretty quickly so what’s the deal here? (Not from US originally and this 401k stuff is confusing af)

Is amex plat mostly a sock drawer card if you travel 2-4 times a year? The benefits are good and more than pay back the annual fee (uber, streaming, equinox digital also, etc)

Would like to get max earnings on the occasional hotel/flight expense. 5x earnings is attractive. But the Venture X & CSP offer better earnings, though other benefits differ.

I am new to the US and was told by everyone how a Roth IRA is a must so I opened a Roth IRA with the institution with which I have my 401k. I only just found out that there are income limits in order to be able to contribute to a Roth IRA and I exceed the limit. I have already opened and maxed out my Roth IRA for 2022 while exceeding the income threshold. Can someone advise me on what to do?

On a side note, why is everything a million times more complicated in the US? From taxes to savings…

Rejected from MBB last year, so went with a boutique LS firm, but M said I could go straight to 2nd round if I applied again. Public sector consulting for 5 years, switching firms and hungry for a promotion (after maternity leave) and learning about manager duties etc. What are the most important skills of managers? Am at a boutique now that lacks structure and mobility.

What happens if I give my resignation on the last day before Christmas break with two week notice, will I be cut off right away or I would still get benefits in January?

We are currently pregnant and at 20 weeks. My husbands was about to tell his manager about the pregnancy and paternity leave plans but then started to hear some layoff rumors which now seems inevitable. His project also did’t get extended (totally unexpected) and his team is getting released at the current client. Now he is unsure of if and when he should let his manager know. He does not want it to backfire on him. Suggestions?

Hi All, I am currently working in IT services based out of Canada as a director with a base salary of $190K. I got an offer from IBM Consulting Canada to join their Hybrid Cloud Computing Group as an Associate Partner - Multicloud in the Financial Services Sector. IBM Consulting offers a base salary of 240K CAD plus bonuses and benefits. Is this a good offer? Any feedback on the work culture at IBM Consulting Canada, particularly in their cloud unit?

How do you know when the next move is right? I don’t like my current position at all, I have an offer from a smaller healthcare focused consulting firm doing ERP implementation. I have no idea what I want my next job to be, it sounds interesting enough but I’m unsure if I’m just hopping from one bad positon to another I won’t like.
