Is it okay to tell recruiter in cover letter that I'm comfortable in applying a senior consultant position because I'm a new manager in the current firm and worrying about language and culture gap? (1 step back for 2 steps forward)

My wife is going to MBA overseas so I'm thinking to relocate myself as well within the same space - T2 strategy firms.

Job 1: 34 month - IT - pre mba

then, 2 yr FT MBA at non IIM top school.

Job 2: 18 month - ERP imple. consultant post MBA

Job 3: 24 month - industry-SCM

Job 4 (middle east): 6 month - industry-SCM - Layoff due to covid

Job 5 (middle east): 20 month - industry SCM - sad redundancy due to COVID.

then, 3 month gap for job search in 2022.

Job 6: Joined a consulting firm recently.

How badly screwed is my career now due to frequent job switch?

What can I do ?

Currently at a top MBA program and was planning to only recruit for tech PM positions. Given how the tech market is doing, wanted to cast a wider net - should I be looking at places like BCG / Bain? They’ve also increased base salary to 190K, which goes far in a LCOL city.

Has anyone in big consulting worked with people that have an MBA from BYU? If I can get an MBA only paying 30k and get the same big consulting result, that seems like a no brainer.

I have been rejected from every single consultancy I have applied for and feeling beat.

8 years EPC experience and an MBA from a top 40 school and 5 yrs military experience.

I'm not sure what's going on given that feedback is all but impossible.

Have new analyst on the team with an MBA and project experience. After working with them for 2 months it’s apparent that there are 0 consulting skills (excel, outlook, PowerPoint) and they freeze up even on internal calls. They are young and coachable, and I offered to put time into that. However at a company event they made no effort to get to know the team and chose to stick to their familiar colleagues in their home office. I’d like to ask for a new resource but interested in feedback.

1. Are consultants/product managers more highly paid than project managers?

Thinking of getting an online MBA from Kelley at IU. Been at Big 4 and am now at a MM firm doing transaction advisory and structuring work. I like the Online MBA as I can continue to work. I don’t particularly have aspirations to work at MBB or anything like that, but I would be interested in pursuing a MM banking job and eventually something in PE. Does that seem reasonable. I have a solid network already so not super concerned about networking during the MBA (and Kelley isn’t known for that).

Now they are making me do a sales rep job by making me go to doctors & other stakeholders. I dont have any sales experience and it is very frustrating & its affecting my health as well. MBB isn’t giving out many interview invites to top MBA program students for full time recruiting right now. Why is that? I thought demand for consulting remains high during economic downturns…
