Deciding between opening a CD with either Chase or JPM. Chase: 3% w/ 1 year term (been with Chase forever so I’m comfortable with putting in large money with them). JPM: 4.5% w/ 3 months term, I know this term is way better, but what worries me is although the list of banks that JPM has are FDIC-insured banks, I’ve never heard of those banks. Question: Are FDIC insured banks truly safe with the current economy? Thinking about putting in $80k to CDs.

PS: if you know please also suggest countries which would be easier to migrate and get a job as HR , apart from the above
