I interviewed for an in-house role a couple of months ago, convos went really well (or so I thought) and they seemed to be impressed with my copy test. A month ago their recruiter told me they’re still figuring out next steps. I basically gave up on it, but wondering if it would be worth emailing the hiring manager again. Suggestions for anything I could say that might give me a shot at a job offer?

Thoughts on Havas? Things I might need to know about working/interviewing there?

droga5 or w+k for senior strat? let’s ignore the layoffs/recession for now since i dont plan on applying immediately. which would be a better place to be a senior strat?

Is it unusual to interview with your CW partner (separate or together, doesn’t matter)? I’m trying to jump with my CW and wondering how common it is that we’ll be a package deal.

Currently making $120k as a senior cw. Interviewed an another well-known agency and they came back with an offer of $100k.

Is it even worth continuing? I countered with $140 (would be happy with 130) but I feel like I’d just be at the top of the list to get cut if/when they economy tanks. I mean, my book isn’t even that good.

I could also be reading too much into this.

Austin - good/bad/ugly? Husband’s applying for a job there and I’m kinda squeamish. I lived there years ago and loved it, but I’m old and cranky now… recent visits really turned me off - housing has become mind bogglingly expensive, infrastructure and traffic is a nightmare, schools are meh, and personally I’m not thrilled with the broader political climate of the state… I still Iove it deep down, but is it worth the hassle these days?

Are “Senior Producer” and “Supervising Producer” interchangeable? I just signed an offer letter at for the position of “Senior Producer”. But now after signing, HR has informed me the title was incorrect. And the offer letter and was meant to say “Supervising Producer” as the title. I went through rounds of interviews and “Senior producer” was discussed. Emails with subject headings “Sr producer” original job description “Senior Producer” even had a pre hire assignment titled “Sr. Producer”

What’s the salary range and what kind of perks should I be negotiating?

After an interview I always have the question “Do you use Slack?”. And if the answer is no, I say what do you use? If the answer is Microsoft Teams, I will walk out.

On LinkedIn, a face appears when your message has been seen, right? I had an interview last week, was asked to send my resume via LI, which I did, then received a rejection from the company (Razorfish) through email yesterday. When I went to my messages with that recruiter, there’s no indication that he even got my resume, much less sent it on. Are companies psychic now? Am I losing my mind? Am I ever going to escape my current agency?

On a third round interview for Media Arts Lab - a great opportunity for me but the Glassdoor reviews make it seem like a circle of hell. I would not be working as a creative if that helps (I feel like a lot of the negative reviews came from creatives). Any insight into what it’s like?

As a recent graduate looking to break into the Account Management side of Advertising, what is the best way to get a job offer? I've done a ton of research and have done zoom networking with professionals/recruiters and nothing is sticking to the wall. I feel like cold applying with just a resume and cover letter will never work. Feeling discouraged... Any ideas?

CALLING ALL ART DIRECTORS: Does your agency recognize the difference between an art director and a designer? I *can* design and understand it is part of the job. 100%. But if I wanted to work on brand identities and guidelines I would work at a branding agency.

Would love to have a list of agencies who have a clear distinction of these roles. And how do you get a *real* answer to this question in the interview process? Is this a classic big vs small shop issue?

Do you ever have to show a competing offer? I’m interviewing with a couple places in LA (not negotiating with my current agency) and one offer came in first. When I told the other place, they asked to see the other offer. Do I have to show it when I don’t want to or do I have to say the amount of the competing offer when they haven’t made theirs yet? How do I say I don’t want to share the details? 🙏🏻

As an aspiring strategist I keep getting asked about my passions during interviews but photography never seems to be enough, they want more. What are your passions? How have they helped you land roles?

So I got promoted! Yay! BUT It was definitely on the earlier end: the job hasn’t lived up to expectations set in the interview and they did it so I wouldn’t leave. I’m still open to sr cw positions (the work just isn’t good at current gig) so should I not update my LinkedIn? I don’t want to limit myself to acd positions b/c I don’t have a book that lives up to it yet. Will recruiters not reach out about sr jobs if I update to acd/ places not think I’m serious about sr jobs if I apply as an acd?

Currently im an undervalued disgruntled marketing manager with an agency. I’ve been looking for a new position the last two weeks within adtech but no success as of yet.

This morning I received an second interview email from a company that I am unsure of. Glassdoor only has one review, LinkedIn page has very few posts, and google displayed they received almost 400k in PPP loans. I don’t want to waste my time or theirs but this smells like a scam of an opportunity. What would you do?

Creatives - how are you finding recruiters and getting interviews at in-house brands and tech companies? Seems like it’s different from agency recruiting and I’m not getting any bites with LinkedIn DMs or emailing. I just started my job search any advice is appreciated

Did 4 rounds of interviews, didn’t get any updates from them the following week, so sent out a follow-up on Friday, nothing yet. I know ghosting is pretty standard today but didn’t really expect from that company/team. I don’t hold my breath but curious if anyone ever got an offer after 1.5 week of no updates? (I guess, it’s more of a rhetorical question, lol)

interviewing for my first agency job and the final call is with a strategist—I already spoke with the creative director. any thoughts on what I should prepare to talk about?

What are some good/important questions to ask a potential creative partner in an interview? I’m going through the process now and usually go mostly off chemistry and personality but feel like it could be of value to actually have some key questions in mind? Anyone have any that personally helped you know that your partner was “the one” (as lame as that sounds)

Had such a great interview with an agency this morning. Then I look at their Glassdoor and it's horrible reviews- like the opposite of what the recruiter and group account director told me.

What do I do? I have a really good gut feeling about this but now scared from Glassdoor. UGH finding a job is so hard.

If you’ve been laid off and currently don’t have a job, do you take the first offer you can get? Or hold out for the possibility of a role you may like better.

first in house interview loop rn. my current agency has 4 stars on glassdoor while new gig has 3.3-3.5 or something.

seeing that makes me scared i’ll be just as/more unhappy at a new spot.

Is it normal or cool for recruiters to ask what communities you belong to in an interview?

I have a job interview for a side gig that I am extremely qualified for, and they really want to work with me. The problem is I just realized that my work authorization expired - and now I am running to renew… but it’ll take a few weeks.

Do I take the interview, and let them ask? Do I ask them to pay me via Venmo? Do I just do the work in the meantime and ask for payment later? At a loss… don’t want to lose this opportunity.

If you find out a place was willing to offer you more than you originally asked and you’re still in the interview process - is it a bad look to change your answer further in the process?

-What’s your salary range?
90-95k.
- great we’re looking at 100k so that’s perfect.
