Has anyone gone through the interview process for Google’s BI analyst role? How technical is it - am I ok with just SQL and some light Python? Have some experience with PowerBI and, to lesser extent, Tableau too.

Also, any comp estimates?

Data & Analytics Consulting -> Data Analyst / Scientist Roles at FAANG?

Has anyone successfully made the jump? Any tips? I’ve been working as a consultant at a B4 acct firm for 4.5 years. My role is becoming less technical as I advance, which I do not like. I have experience with Python and SQL. Anyone have tips for getting an interview in these roles? Should I leetcode for SQL/Python? Any advice is welcome! Have an interview for an enterprise systems analyst role. Recruiter said they’re looking for someone who knows sql and can write custom reports using sql. My experience with sql is basically data validation, comparing against what’s on a report on a dashboard vs what’s in the database. Any tips to learn between now and Thursday or am I SOL?

Is the job market rn really bad or is my resume just trash ? Can’t land an interview ANYWHERE. 1 YOE in consulting, mostly with ERP software and 2 YOE w/ federal contractors . How to prep (and what to expect) for an interview on Excel, SQL and R? I have a final round coming up which includes 30 minutes assessing my “technical skills” which the recruiter implied would be the skills listed on my resume (these 3 were also listed in the job description). FWIW I listed my R skills as “basic” since all I’ve ever done is a short online course, and for SQL I’m fairly comfortable with your standard queries (JOIN, WHERE, ORDER BY, etc.). This is for a strategy role.

If I put Tableau on my resume, can I learn the basics 24-48 hours before an interview if needed (similar to how you can with SQL)?

I have a sql coding test in a week for an interview and I’m not the most well versed in complex queries/brainteasers. If I get truly stuck multiple times, what is the best approach? The interviewer will be watching me over video. Should I admit I’m stuck, and if so, can I do that without blowing my chances?

Can anyone talk to me about their experience with Slalom Consulting? Years ago, I interviewed with them and it didn’t work out. Their benefits were okay-ish and during the interview for data analytics consultant position, I found it strange that they wanted to quiz me on simple SQL and Tableau features rather than how I used different tools to solve problems. Classic consulting/Deloitte fashion: I listed SQL on my resume as a skill, where I really just have basic familiarity with core concepts, but would struggle to be tested technically on it. Upcoming interview where I’m likely to be asked about it. What do you recommend?
