Any advice on transitioning from a mid-tier firm to say a Big4/Accenture?

Of course, networking and interview prep is already on the list, and I'm learning Data Analytics skills like SQL and R, Tableau, and Power BI. Any other tactics or advice that any of y'all would have to make a successful transition?

I have reskilled in Data analysis and want to pursue this line.
Skillset :-

Python
Tableau
Jupyter

What more skills should I add so I can switch job? I have been doing self study and projects from places like kaggle and Udemy. Created a GitHub link too
But my profiles do not shortlist and keeps getting rejected. Not even getting a chance for interview.

My current company's notice period is 3 months, due to which I'm unable to get any interview calls. Resigning without an offer is not possible at the moment due to family responsibilities.

Do you know any companies which will accept three months of notice period?

Or how do I tackle this situation?

I have joined IBM in July 2022. I haven't got any project till now. Skill set is PySpark, AWS, Spark, Hadoop, Hive, SQL. 2 Project interviews are done and they haven't considered my profile.

I have 7years total and 2.3 years Relevant Experience is there. Monday I have one project interview for Production support project. Is it good to go with Support project or shall I wait for a development role? Is it tough to get a project in IBM if you're hired a pool resource?

Really frustrating to see the current crop of freshers coming in these days. Yes, they are very good in DSA, but whenever I interview anything apart from DSA, I'm almost always disappointed. Students struggle with even basic sql queries and open ended questions. What is happening these days? And salaries offered are pretty high these days, around 15-20LPA.

Hey everyone. I had my interview today for the position of Senior Analyst at Essex Lake Group. This was my 5th round of interview. After clearing 2 tech rounds and 2 with senior managers, they decided to take one last tech round for me.
I could answer all theoretical questions asked and also one SQL coding question. I couldn’t correctly code another coding question that was a bit more complicated and tricky. I’m uncertain as to what their final decision could be. Any help?

For data scientists who went from consulting to product/tech companies, how did you prepare for the move? I am a new grad with a data science masters and working as a data scientist in consulting. However, I want to work as a product data scientist after a year or two. I am not worried of SQL, but don’t have direct experience in AB testing. I wonder in this case, how can I prepare my resume and interview especially in AB testing and product sense? Thanks!

Hi fishes, I am going to have a interview with TransUnion, entry level operational analyst.
The next interview will be a technical interview which includes a test on basic SQL, excel.
Could you give me any advices to prepare for the interview? I have no idea what it will be, what question will be asked.
By now, I prepare the pivot table, Vlookup, etc. for Excel, and I am trying to finish all easy level of SQL at Leetcode. What else should I prepare? Are they going to ask me the defination?

What sorts of SQL questions are typically asked in interview questions for senior data analysis jobs? Like is knowing SQL from freecodecamp enough or should I look into taking a course online?

I’ve unfortunately not gotten the chance to use SQL in my current position so I don’t feel like I have enough experience in it, but have experience in everything else (Python, tableau, storytelling, etc)

I just finished the final round interview for a manager role in compliance tech for a multi-tril bank.

For some reason I blanked on a technical SQL question.

I plan on sending a routine ‘Thank You’ email to the interviewers, but in the email should I include the answer to the technical SQL question?

I had recently interviewed for TIAA for the position of BI analyst but failed to crack the SQL round of interview due to my nervousness. I am really pressed and demotivated after my rejection.I made sure to be prepared in SQL and I wish to be interviewed in TIAA again. Will they consider my profile again?
