I asked for more money for a senior accountant role and have received a lot of push back. I have been firm with my decision and the recruiter called me today to set up an interview with the CFO. And then threw in the fun fact that there are two other applicants that are willing to take the money offered. Are recruiters always this annoying?

This might have been already asked so apologies in advance, but has anyone gone back to public/advisory from industry? I know there are a lot of boomerangs out there but I mean more specifically advisory or due diligence? Currently in Assurance and want to experience private industry as either a Senior Accountant or SEC reporting role but don’t want to shut myself from these other opportunities? Or should I persue advisory first and then private accounting if it doesn’t seem like a good fit?

Spouse got an offer for industry accounting analyst position. 73k base located at New Jersey. Spouse have 3 year Staff Accountant experience with a CPA license. Is this 73k fair pay? Should we ask more? How much more would be appropriate? Many thanks!

Kind of regret going into accounting/audit lol. Was anyone else told “accounting can do finance but finance can’t do accounting.” I was under the impression that transitioning to finance would be easy, but all the exit ops I see are senior accountant, internal audit, accounting advisory, etc.

Received an offer as a senior fund accountant, but I’m not 100% sure fund accounting would be for me. I feel like it may limit exposure and potential future opportunities compared to a typical senior accounting role. It’s a great company so I’m having trouble making a decision.

Im hesitating between exiting to land on a IA role because hours are chill and comfortable salary versus fund accountant type role. What are the pros and cons ? I’m really looking for WLB but also a minimum of career advancement even if it’s slow. I’m currently in PA.

I was offered a contract position with a consulting firm. I will be leaving my first full time job, so trying to cover my bases. The contract is for 6 months with the option to evaluate for a full time position after 3.

Currently an A3 in assurance. I have two job offers: senior financial analyst (FP&A role) and senior accountant. Similar pay (a little over 40% raise), similar benefits. Will taking one of the offers limit me to just those types of roles going forward or would there still be an opportunity to do the other later on?

Some recruiters are f**king clueless. I made it clear what my salary expectations are and then they try to push me into this staff accountant position paying 60k, which would be a 5k pay cut and I have 2 years exp about to be promoted to senior. Now she's giving me the runaround how I won't get a senior position in industry after I've told her I had interviews for senior positions already paying 85k+

A recruiter reached out to me about a fund accountant position at a PE firm. The company is growing a lot, but don’t know much about fund accounting outside of reading online. Is this solid experience that could transfer to other jobs after? I don’t know any fund accountants but would love some insight.

So I’m excited I have three pretty solid options 1. Being a trust tax manager at a bank ( I’ve done banking/trust world before)
2. Contract to hire at a private equity firm 3. Staff accountant role at a healthcare company. Thoughts on these options?
