Anyone hiring Senior Art Directors/ACDs? Been freelancing for a few years and having trouble finding FT opportunities

Comment if you landed your creative role purely through an application with no connection at all! And where did you land it?

The HR dep for a small consulting agency just told me I’m getting “exciting news” tomorrow. I know the salary range for the position is 90-100 but I feel like the going rate for senior strategists is 120+. Any tips on negotiating for more? (I have 4 years of agency experience btw)

What level of position should I be targeting when applying for roles client side if I’m an AS with 6-7 years of experience working on big name brands?

When did you realize that you made a move to another agency/position a little too soon? (talking as a junior in my previous agency and midlevel to my new one)

GAS role, which agency should I move forward with? Any particular accounts/ teams I should I avoid? McCann vs. Grey. vs. Wunderman Thompson vs. Omnicom. I have offers from almost all of them just wanted to gain insights on corp culture, wlb and comp.

Thinking about moving to Dubai, is it hard to land an Art Director position there? And what are the best agencies to work for?

Recently graduated with an MA and was excited to work remote as a strategist or analyst at the big name agencies. Suddenly, no one seems to be hiring remote anymore, and I’m repeatedly being asked to relocate and come in person.

I know my work is doable remote. I’ve been doing it well for two years at various agency internships. Is it unrealistic to stick with the remote dream and keep searching, or do I cave and consider relocating?

Digital/integrated advertising is the future I hear. Any fishies here dreading it? I work for a mainline agency that’s now trying to position itself as an integrated agency and forcing us to write Instagram reels and posts. 😖 I was born 3 decades too late. *clutches The Copy Book tighter*

Few months ago I finally found a courage to changed my “about me” section so it would reflect who I am and my culture. I thought diverse talent are appreciated more these days. Unfortunately according to my google analytic, the first click was on “about me” section, then exit. Not even a single click on anything else. I had a lot more traffic on most of my projects when I had ambiguous genaric one. I guess diversity is not as cool as it is being portrayed for hiring. Back to being generic! 🙁

Has anyone heard of/have experience with Decoded Advertising that they can share thoughts on? Recently was contacted about an open role (full time, media planning/strategy team at the manager level) on the Visa account - wanted to know opinions about WLB, comp., benefits/PTO, culture, career development, etc. since there's not too much info on glassdoor. When you’re talking to an internal recruiter for an agency role, should you tell them specifically what account(s) you would most want to work on?

I love the agency that I work for however I’m stuck with an account person who is set on misunderstanding me or expecting me to track information that isn’t shared with me. I’d hate to leave but the past few months are affecting my mental health. Should I leverage a competing job offer to get my boss to let me switch accounts or go ahead and take the leave for a new role?

I work in house for a wholesaler doing product photography and graphics work. I was promoted to the position from inside the warehouse, but I’m still making the same wage I was humping boxes. Doesn’t quite seem fair to be making below 30k for this

Hey everyone! Starting to look more into experiential marketing and wanted to get people's thoughts on this - anyone have insight/thoughts on going from digital marketing (currently a media planner at an ad agency) to experiential marketing? Major similarities/differences between role responsibilities, any skills/background that would transfer, etc.? Any info is super helpful, TIA!

if during an interview, the recruiter shares the budget for the role, but it’s lower than what you want, do you still continue with them in hopes you can negotiate higher?

What do you guys think about moving from a large agency to a small, start up agency? I just got an offer with a huge pay bump, and I will take it, but I am worried if I will not fit in the culture or a smaller start up. Now with the huge Toronto WPP office opening, its just annoying that I will lose that experience. But I gotta pay for rent lol.

Ok I currently work in advertising as a senior designer. The Agency has a history of low payment. I get to work with some fairly large brands. I am happy with my employer and position. I recently had a job offer fall in my lap but it is in commercial real estate as an in-house designer for a upcoming brand that is making large moves and raking in capital. The job is paying about 35% more than I make now. My boss offered me a raise that comes in about 3k short of the other offer. What to do?

What to do when moving on from your first role and don’t have anything book worthy. Everything I have done is fairly menial banners and internal/small design projects. I want to be on the conceptual side of the business. Should I just add a new piece of spec work to my book and another section with what I have done at this job (to show I have experience)?
