For hiring remote employees, does your companies try to avoid hiring in certain states due to higher employer burdens (taxes, complex laws, ins rates, etc)? If so, which ones (and why, if you know)?

Hi. Wondering if I’m considered mid level or senior producer. 9 years experience starting out agency side then moving to post. Currently in LA. Left staff role to freelance for the past two years. What do y’all think? I don’t care about title as much about what to charge for day rate. $$$

What’s your average tenure? I really enjoy my work. I like my colleagues, I like the network I’m in and I like my boss. But I’ve been given the opportunity to interview with a small, but very impactful, consulting shop that specialises in purpose and meaning for brands. But I worry how it’ll look on my resume if I jump ship too soon (I’m 18 months into my current role, but 8 in career total). And I’d like the opportunity to maybe return to agencies some day. Would this look bad?

Does anyone else get annoyed at the agency equivalent of a "teacher's pet"? I'm talking about that one person on the team that LOVES everything, "LOVES" everyone (especially management) and takes on the role of being overtly positive. I always thought a manager position client-side would generally pay better than agency-side. Well I got contacted by an in house recruiter for a very well known hair care brand, and after a tough few emails trying to get her to spill the salary range, their salary offered was SHOCKINGLY lower than what I make now.

I currently work at VMLY&R Senior Strategist , tech client. Got an offer from Vayner Media LA strategy team, same position 35% pay increase.
Any thoughts on Vayner?

Help. typical imposter syndrome creeping in. I left my old agency to move to a new agency and was given a manager position! Woohoo! Except this agency REALLY knows their stuff ( uses acronyms, uses best practices I’ve never considered, works with really big accounts, etc.) and I feel like I am EXTREMELY under qualified for the position. I know I need to learn, and my passion stems from advocating and leading others, but worried about leading other in this environment. Any tips?

Genuine question: what does a VP or EVP title signify in agencies? Is it an extra sign of value? And if you’re negotiating for a position, can that title be part of the conversation? Or is there some additional factor that can “unlock” it?

Hey everyone! Wanted some advice - got an offer from MediaCom for a Planning Manager role (base salary is $90K which is more than satisfactory) but their PTO is severely lacking especially compared to the unlimited PTO at my current job - they offered 10 actual PTO days, which are even prorated since it's mid-year (I travel quite a bit) Is their PTO allowance negotiable and if so, any advice for how to handle the email follow-up to the written offer/how much to ask for? TIA!
