Is it worth staying in public accounting if I want to pivot to a completely different industry (PE/investment/asset management)? I’m currently in DT tax BTS (1 yr.) and work primarily for investment management clients. But would like to avoid going into fund accounting/ops and would like to try and get An analyst role. The only upside I can see as of now is waiting til I get my CPA, and then apply to an MBA program which would help me land an analyst role. DT might help on an MBA application?

Both roles seem to be a good fit but the BVS role would be a paycut (~23% of my current salary) and title downgrade while the Success role would be a big pay increase (~30%). From my understanding, the BVS organization is a much more well-regarded group in SFDC.

Any SFDC 🐠 have more insight?

Hi all, I am needing some help with a salary negotiation. I am trying to relocate to Pittsburgh area. I have 3.5 years of experiences now and getting offered between 80k-85k for base salary for a senior accountant or reporting analyst position. Does this sound about right? I get paid more right now (maybe becasue I am in Oil and Gad industry) but want to see what the market average look like in Pittsburgh.

I am a S3/ acting manager under BTS big four - saw a indirect tax analyst role I am interested in at a technology company. Should you ever take yourself out of the running for a role because you no longer feel qualified? I’m currently interviewing for an industry role that was posted as a senior analyst but going through the interview process it seems like they need someone at a manager / director level. I keep getting scheduled for follow up interviews but I don’t feel like even if I end up getting the role I’d be very overwhelmed with the responsibilities.

I'm currently a recruiter, with an HR background looking to make a slight career pivot. As an introvert, the recruitment aspect has been draining however, I do enjoy the non-phone screen aspects of it. I enjoy consulting with managers and looking at comp, internal equity and providing data to my hiring managers.
