my manager is giving me an opportunity to help hire junior team members. I've very little experience in hiring so I'm starting with informal (virtual) coffee chats. What are some key things to ask/ watch out for to see if someone would be a good data analyst?

It’s been 48 day since the layoff! I have had 2 interview. One was with Salesforce and I was supposed to be in the final round and then they put the position on Hold and another one was with a Pharma Client in Boston and they picked another person for the role... McKinsey Friends - Two questions. If you came in after undergrad and spent 2 years at the BA level, what did your exit opportunities look like (I.e. position and pay wise?) If you didn’t exit after 2 years why did you take the Senior Business Analyst route v.s MBA route, and vice versa.

Any thoughts on Sr Financial Analyst role (top 10 CPG firm)? I’m currently a consultant about 1.5 years in being recruited for this role for transformation. Would it be “worth it” transition? I love finance have mostly worked on internal audit so far. Just some advice here would be great if anyone knew anything about if this role would be worth it.

My dilemma. I'm a big 4 manager focused on IAM but with a CISSP. My goal is to be an info sec manager/director/ciso but each of those seem to require experience like responding to incidents, performing security assessments, etc. Has anyone made the evolution from IAM focus to general info sec manager/director and if so, what was your path? Do I need to "downgrade" and take an incident response analyst level role so I can get hands on experience? Thanks

SO is at the offer stage for a fintech. It’s a compliance analyst level role and a lateral move. The trouble is that the offer came in at the same point as her current salary at a bank. The recruiter made it sound like we don’t negotiate with candidates and it’s an exploding offer. After considering the usual tech perks like discounted ESPP, the offer improves marginally. Unsure if it is the recruiter playing hardball or if they truly don’t negotiate for compliance analyst roles. Any advice?

Currently in a strategy role in tech. I went from being a 5 star analyst to borderline 1 star since Covid started due to lack of motivation, manager micro-managing every detail of project since WFH started etc. My work is now 90% ops, 10% strategy (was 75/25 strategy before), and my manager has taken over the few projects I used to own due to them not having much work themselves. Is this classic writing on the wall for me to find exits?
