How much of a dead end is going to a sr. revenue accounting analyst role in industry? What exit opportunities are there?

Any insight on going from Big 4 audit (S1) to boutique PE firm in an analyst role? The role supports operations of the portfolio companies (i.e. system implementations, accounting set up, etc.). Sounds like interesting work but the exit opportunities are a little unclear and not sure if it would be detrimental to veer away from an accounting-specific role.

Im current at EY in a consulting group that does not focus on deals, but have completed few due diligence type engagements. We focus mostly on ODD (Operational Due Diligence) for private equity firms. I really want to make it into IB. I have an interview for a Valuation and Opinions Role. Would that help in transitioning in as an IB Analyst? I would have a substantial pay cut (100K to 85K - excluding bonus). My current experience has not been seen as valuable by recruiters.

What exactly is a “Knowledge Analyst” at BCG? Is it client facing or more of an internal/research type of role?

Hi! I just had a first round interview for an analyst position at Facebook in Dublin. They asked me to provide an expected salary range, but I don’t know what is typical for analysts in general with 1-2 YOE. Any ranges? (I just moved back from the US so I have no decent anchor to compare the salary to)

I'm an HR Generalist with about 7 years of experience. What is the best way to learn more about Compensation? I've always wanted to dive deeper into that area of HR, however, until recently, I only have ever worked at larger organizations that claimed there wasn't time to cross train me or to help with comp projects.

Would it be beneficial to take a step down and try to find an Jr comp analyst position? Is there a program I could participate in to learn specifically about the nuance's of compensation?

Wondering what is your take on this. 3 months into my 6 months internship in a family office, the investment manager asked me if i want to apply to their portfolio analyst/business controller role with the possibility to move to investment associate in about 2 years. Upside being i don't need to hustle for another internship or full time job, but how does 2 years middle office look on my resume? Guess not great, don't want to get stuck if there is no headcount at the end. What do you think?

Considering applying for an entry level business analyst (consulting) position at a competitor Big 4 firm. I just completed my first year in audit, so I’m wondering if it’s still appropriate for me to apply as entry level instead of experienced hire?

Need advice on the transition to FDD one day. Will be promoted to senior in 2 weeks (in risk advisory and have CPA). I already feel a huge disadvantage trying to go Risk > FDD (as opposed to typical Audit > FDD).

Should I stick it out in risk until deals start hiring again? I think there's some value in being a Big 4 CPA compared to an industry senior analyst. But the work in risk doesn't help me develop towards FDD at all... transfer got delayed 3 times until covid, so I'm down to switch firms

I'm a senior in college. I just got invited to interview for the Strategy Analyst position at Deloitte in their GPS practice (I go to a school in DC), but I never filled out the application lol. How does federal compare to commercial in terms of pay, wlb, prestige, etc? I would appreciate any and all advice, as I am new to this. So I’m a second year consultant. Like most, I was disappointed with compensation this year and am pretty bearish on my future earning potential here. I’m currently interviewing with a big tech company (not FAANG but close) for a position with substantially higher pay as a business analyst. I really wanted to stay til SC/M but the money is too good to pass up. I guess my question is: are there any major downsides to exiting to industry “too early?” Has anyone done it and regretted it?

26 y/o VC analyst in London. Will likely be made redundant due to COVID and am currently lost as to where I should be looking for my next opportunity. VC would be ideal but funds are barely hiring. Does anyone have experience transitioning from tax (will be S1 effective 10/1) to a financial analyst position, and have advice? I don’t want to do tax. I’m interested in learning a business/industry and not just looking at records. My current role is a Business Analyst. I am very comfortable interacting with people and also Ambiguity. Recently, I developed quite a lot of interest in Product management and I want to make a transition into this stream. I am completely aware that Business Analysis is different from Product Management. I started taking courses on Udemy to understand more about Product Management and also started reading books. I would love to get handson with the concepts that I am learning, but not sure (TBC)

If your team is looking to add another analyst to “take on workload” but your own workload has been minimal, is this writing on the wall for you to find exit ops?
