Hello. Would anyone mind sharing a solid resource or approach to compensation alignment strategy? Currently our staff have a conversation around their comp. on their anniversary- 300 employees. Performance review conversations take place twice a year and not connected to the comp conversation. I am looking for a way to ensure the comp. conversations feel less laborious and tedious. Hey all. I had a recruiter reach out about a job posting I applied for through LinkedIn. One of the first questions she sent through email were my salary expectations. I don’t want to underbid myself without hearing about the salary range from her first. Is there a good way to respond to this questions w/o giving her a $ amount just yet?

Would you leave top bank in Canada when you are 18 months into role as Branch Manager and just about ready to move on to next role for a 45% salary increase, no commute (down from 80km one way), but you need to be BM for 3 more years at different Big5 bank?

Anyone apply to clerkships after working at your firm for a while? Any advice? Currently a second year putting out applications

How long and how “much” can a stub year coast through Big Law? What billables are considered “coasting”? 1 year? 2 years? 3 years? For perspective - at Vault 10 firm in NYC with no billable abs unassigned system.

Situation: got an offer from firm X; highly likely to get a better offer from firm Y but official offer would take a couple of more weeks in best case scenario. However, firm X’s offer validity about to run out. Would you: (1) accept X’s offer now but rescind later if Y converts (2) ask X for additional time to decide (they’re “prestigious” and may not offer additional time...) (3) Play straight, decline X and hope Y converts (4) any other creative ideas ...???

What’s one area of your spiritual health that you’d like to see improved?
