Hello there, i’m wondering if anyone on this group has experience opening your own agency? I was laid off in April and had been freelancing ever since. I have been luck enough getting a few projects without really seeking people out while slowly interviewing. In the back of my mind I have always wanted my own agency. How do you get more clients and dealing with the sales/pitching process on your own? also as WOC i don’t feel like have the right network to tap into for higher earning projects
How are you building and keeping up the comradely with your team and colleagues during WFH? Any suggestions?
Can’t bear to read the immigration news these days. Cases are rising like crazy due to stupid ignorance of the virus and on the other side stupid policy pushing students and immigrants out. November is round the corner I hope.

Is it expected that consultants don’t make plans on weeknights? We have night calls to close out the day at 6pm every night but there’s always actions to come out of it. Is it just assumed we are available 24/7 M-F? This is so toxic. I had a friends birthday dinner tonight and the whole night I was anxious about what I’m supposed to be doing tonight.
I propose a new type of advertising. It's where advertisers honestly communicate selling points for products consumers want to buy at a fair price and they exchange their money for the products
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
I still don’t understand why the bonus are potentially removed, for tax the cares act impacted us (qip) and I see a lot of hours needed to be spent next months, who’s doing /payjn for all out of scope

I usually avoid pinging people and rather prefer to send an email unless something needs attention urgently say within 15 mins. Feedback I received says, I need to be more informal and leverage chat and other means more often. Email comm makes it a formal comm 🤔. Personally I find it annoying when someone ping me with a question which I could have answered by day end when I am not fighting a fire. Anyone else prefer emails over pings for non urgent things? Or am I doing it wrong?

Where are people looking for salary information? We pay market. I know what other firms pay for the level we want to hire. People are asking for 40-50% over the top of the pay band. I legitimately want to know where these numbers are coming from. None of our compensation studies are even close.
