Hi everyone! I’m planning to start studying December 1st for the CPA exam and am considering using Becker. For those who have used it, how was your experience? Did it help you pass? What did you like or dislike about it? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
In another hand do you have any other suggestions other than Becker?

I passed FAR using only MCQ. Didn’t watch a single video. Hammer 100 questions a day until you’ve done all of them twice and you’re good to go.

like

Just the MCQ and sims.

It’s good. Probably the best overall of the studying companies. Roger has the best lectures if you need those. Wiley has the best textbooks if you need those. Becker is a mix of both of them. Ninja has great MCQs and usually worth the purchase to supplement whatever course you purchase.

Ultimately it’s up to you and the type of learning materials you need to fit the way you need to study

like

I only used Universal CPA. I hated Becker. Passed all 4 exams in 6 months with Universal.

like

Thank you I’ll check this one out too.

if you can afford to do Becker and Ninja, I'd do both like others have said. If you can only afford one, I think Ninja is more worth it because you really need to practice with the MCQs and there are other ways to get access to the textbook materials. But ultimately both becker and ninja is best

like

Use Becker. Put the lectures on 1.5x. Hammer multiple choice. Make flash cards.

like

Yes, I agree on the acronyms. I like the idea of making flash cards

Becker tends to be at the top as they cemented themselves years ago. The other I've seen recommended is i75. Becker just had a sale. However, i75 may currently have one. Surgent is another one that is having a sale as well.

YouTube has videos of both in case you want to check it out!

like

Thank you!

I highly recommend Becker. Many of my colleagues over the years used it and passed the exam. It all boils down to studying and doing as many of the practice exams, “homework “ problems, etc that you can. With the professional experience that I now have, I’m curious now how the exam compares to professional experiences and how you answer the questions…..”book” answers or how you’d handle/answer the questions, problems, etc based on your own experience over the years. Hmm

like

I used both Becker and Gleim.

like

I just started studying for Far, are give cpa exam for nyc?

Becker is ok. I used them and the audio lectures from CPA Ninja Review to use while I was driving. Honestly don’t know if there is any real tangible difference between Roger and Becker. They have similar pass rates. I’d just go with whichever one your first pays for. They also have trials that you can use to sample their material.

Becker has live in person course as well as live webinar courses though.

Best investment you’ll make.

Just stay far away from Surgent, they are AWFUL! I'm going with Becker for my studies, but love the other suggestions.

Curious to know what was awful about Surgent because I am considering them after a colleague recommended them especially for FAR

like

Is becker only to give exams or do they teach as a course for CPA

Had a first round interview scheduled for a large CPG brand. My interviewer never called me, and I emailed following up to confirm the call. It’s been over a day and no response. What is going on with recruiters? I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt, but not even an email back saying “something came up” or “we’ve moved on” ? I’ve been ghosted after every final interview during my recent job search, but never had I been ghosted before even having the first call??

If you look at their website at the size of the machine it looks like it would fit snugly inside a Starship hull. Why else would someone living a mission to Mars waste time on a solution for annoying traffic. Real tunneling solution would be far larger for city use. No objections from me, think it’s smart.

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.
