Where’s a good place to get salary information or billable rates for the NYC area? I’m hearing of people getting 200k plus or $150-250 an hour for tech work, but I’ve never been able to get more than 145 or $100 an hour. I have 20 years experience, impressive (but not FAANG companies) on my resume, tons of LI connections and written recommendations, and a BS in CS.

BIPOC who started working in healthcare advertising and eventually were able to leave, how’d you do it?

My spec book gets me interviews for junior and mid copywriter positions, but when they ask me what kind of work I’m doing at my current agency, the whole conversation goes south. They either become immediately disinterested, or beam up and suddenly the interview is only about an open pharma role, which is more frustrating because if I want to stay in health I’d go for copy supervisor roles.
