24 year old senior consultant in corporate tax, on track to become a manager next July. Only thing is I don’t want to be in tax for the rest of my career.. any good exit paths that anyone can recommend? Potentially interested in management consulting, joining a finance team as an accountant or trying banking. Also hoping not to have to take much of a pay cut where possible. Any ideas/thoughts/advice?

I would switch to MC at senior level. You won’t be able to do it at a manager level with no experience. Levels in consulting aren’t aligned with tax. A senior in consulting is like a SM in tax.

I would wait till you get to manager to make the move. You look like so more much valuable if you have that title.

Management consulting? MBA. Finance? Honestly you could potentially switch now but maybe look into some valuable certifications if you want a top tier option for a job.

MBA!

What do you not enjoy about tax?

It can be very technical which I’m just not sure is my thing

The only way I know to do that is a Certificate of Good Standing, which I can’t get in a day. Other ideas? I am classified as an agent selling health insurance but there’s a private email I recently gained access to showing the company is using my broker license and I suspected that since I’m the agent of record on a lot of business. They pay for everything including leads but I’m working as an agent in one email whereas there’s another showing I’m using my license as a broker. I get $43,000 salary plus commissions so averaging $80 K a year. Any advice?

About 10 days ago I was exposed to someone who later tested positive for covid. I’m super careful normally. I got a rapid test 7 days after exposure and a PCR test 8 days after exposure and they both came back negative. Since about day 5 after exposure I’ve been SUPER tired though. I’ll drink a ton of coffee, way more than normal, and still feel exhausted. Then off and on I’ve been having stomach issues. Have any of you had this happen? I feel like I have to have it but the tests say no. 🤷🏻‍♂️
