Lol. Sounds like someone thinks they’re the partner on my last job...
Pwc is right. I am a manager. And I agree with him 100% but he is lucky for now. Wait till he gets a team that is not capable to do all testing correctly. And he is forced to roll up his sleeves.
If you’re team is working more than you are, you’re not managing you’re dictating. Good luck
Nobody likes working for you as a senior if you act like that and do none of the testing so good luck come eval time
OP is kinda right and you guys know it. stop the whining and play the game lol
Lol not only that, I'm gonna get early promo all the way to manager. I'm on great basis with the partners and managers.
Listen guys, it's not how hard you work, it's all about communications and how smart you work
I’m really glad I never had a senior like you when I was an associate. 😂😂 Also, if this is your attitude as an S1, I’m really interested to see how much that changes by the time you get to S2.
What’s Moss Adams?
SA1 and AA1 you guys just dont know how to manage people. I make sure nobody I stressed or anything. I bring all the fun to my teams. I haggle with the manager for team budget for team lunch, drinks, socials. Then I just chill. You just need to reward people well for their hard work. That's it. My teams know I'm chill and love working for me. I'm very empathetic
I think managing people when you have enough resources should be your priority, and is a good way to do it.
If you want to grow to the next level, think of how you can do the higher level works. Just managing people and not doing genuine work at all won’t probably take you far.
Dude that's exactly how managing works. You think the partners work more than the managers?
@S2 if OP gets there 😂
A senior should never leave before the staff. So if your team is going home early with you, then I’m all for it. But if you are leaving before them, it’ll eventually bite you in the ass and you’re a poor senior. Good luck
My senior leaves before the rest of us always and it’s never phased me.
As a senior associate you should be putting in the work is all I’m saying. As a partner their building the business but they’ve put in the work already
This sounds like a joke
But don’t you have to senior REVIEW the work? Surprised you are chilling so hard if you have to project manage the team, answer team questions, answer client questions, and still review the work. Then also managing upward with managers and partners. ....I assume you’re doing all that?
In addition, I also never have to work on the weekend or late everyday
Sweet
Wow. I really can’t tell if you are being serious. Sadly I think you are??
Stop being so serious about work man. Chill out. You just have to push your EAs to development. They can handle it. End of day engagements get done on time. Everybody is happy
Sounds like you got lucky to have a great team like that. Ride the wave my friend. Godspeed!
My only question tho: do you have one team and/or client all year round? If so, you might've snagged the elusive unicorn.
PS: I'll take less work/days off over socials, lunch, drinks, anytime. But that's just me :)
I’m with the OP on this one. Delegate work out to your team and assist them as necessary. Seniors doing too much work results in underdeveloped staff.
