Faced this weird behaviour from Optum recently. Gave interview for Data Scientist position. HR said feedback is positive. Asked for documents. It's been month now since I have shared the documents. I have no update on the offer. Today I called HR, she called me back saying the position is on hold due to recalibration in team, She has shared interview feedbacks to other teams and will get back to me in couple of days. I am clueless now. My last working day is approaching (In a month). Any Help??

It's not on you that your boss doesn't know what metrics actually matter, so don't let it get it you down!!
if this continues just know that you don't have to stay at that job forever and as long as you have access to the metrics that matter some other employer will be able to appreciate that!
Sadly, not every job will give you the recognition you deserve and sometimes it will be for completely arbitrary reasons that this happens. Hope you make it through this tough situation
Keep doing what you're doing and continue to track progress using more meaningful metrics. Even if he/she only cares about vanity metrics, the results will speak for themselves at the right time
Have you tried to "translate" the engagement rate to him/her? Many people don't really pay attention to it because they don't know how important it is. You could try to tell them what the ER means and the benefits it will bring in the future.
