I am currently interviewing at TikTok for the Content Partnerships Lead role. Can anyone share some insight into the salary bands in the Sub-Saharan African market? Should I benchmark with the global rates?
Any tips and experiences interviewing in this region are also welcome - and highly appreciated! :)
Kind souls who successfully exited to Google,
Would you be kind enough to refer me to a role at Google!
Came across a role that's a good fit. Would ideally like to target it through a referral and not by applying through the career site.
Would also love to maybe take you for a meal or alike to thank you for it :) Google
Can anyone at GitHub give me a referral? 👀

Hello Mastercard employees. I have been trying to break into MC for long now.
I have 2 yrs workex post MBA. I have experience in data analysis and consulting. But I don't want to get into consulting anymore. I am looking for analytics roles. Anyone here would be able to DM and guide me on the available options at Mastercard?

We’ve already had 8 applications in two weeks and with the help of these 10 agencies we’re taking a big step towards getting more Black talent hired at Colorado agencies.
We’ve got more initiatives to come, but this was a big one for us. What is your agency doing to help? Share below!

It’s been like this for some time now, junior roles are typically on a rare side.
My advice would be to niche down to something more in demand - every other strategist is a brand planner - but not many want to do less sexy stuff, like digital, social, media, comms, etc. That’s where you can rely on your hard skills a bit more. But in both case scenarios, have to hustle and network!
not answering your question but adding context to the dialogue — had drinks with a director this week and they confirmed teams are lean right now. even if they're posting listings and taking resumes for junior to mid level positions, they may get new news two weeks later finance saying no offers can be extended. in addition to lean financials, limited projects result in teams only wanting senior to director+ level roles.

Just came to say I have seen very few strategy roles posted overall even at mid senior level where I sit, feels like people are staying put and not much growth happening at agencies.
Answers to your questions below!
- Yes, my team has hired an entry level role (0-3 years) this year, but the role sat empty for 6 months while we waited for budget approval to open the new role.
- we posted the job online on our website, agency linked in, and team members posted about it on their own LinkedIn profiles.
- applicants came from whomever applied but we did get a few referrals. The person we hired was a referral from a connection. However, the other top candidate was someone who applied on their own doing.
- I wish. We rarely have wiggle room in our department salary budgets for this and have to juggle between internal salary increases and promotions within the same budget.
Hope this helps!
appreciate it!
We hired a junior who came through our internship program.
Junior Strat roles have been hard to come by since I entered the industry 10+ yrs ago. My hunch is AI is making things worse. That’s not some fatalistic prediction just the reality that in an industry known for pinching pennies, having a senior team pull shotty competitive audits (at least a topline) from GPT probably seems easier than making an ask for junior headcount.
That said, internships aren’t going anywhere. It’s a low cost investment and if you crush it and they like you, it’s a safe hire for them to convert you. But very few FT entry level roles are posted publicly in my experience. I remember the best agencies (WK, Goodby) would make room for the right junior if an informational interview snowballed into a series of interviews that went well.
