Use supply demand - crafting cases
Needs clearer way to get to 1.) a number on current demand, 2.) a number on current supply, and 3.) 1-2 to see what the demand supply gap is, and whether there’s room for 50 more clinics.
1.) current demand — you have some good ideas on the medical side of market sizing, I would also just consider affordability — who’s paying (government, private insurance, OOP), and what % of these patients with clinical need can actually afford. On a small note, I would try to be more opportunistic and include a wider age range — eg prevention + screening services for those below 60 as well, as the aetiologies of these neuro things run for decades
2. current supply — look at current number of neurologists / clinics, forecast how they’ll grow over the next few years. Look at their capacity utilization currently — eg if each neurologist can see a maximum theoretical 10 patients a day, how many are they actually seeing now
3. Compare 1-2 to see if there’s a huge gap, enough for x more neurologists / clinics
Additionally, you’re right that we should also look at other factors other than demand-supply gap, like regulations, how should we have 50 more clinics (eg poach neurologists from other private practices? Bring them in from other states?), should we have a phased approach to opening the 50 clinics? I would also clarify a bit more on what “neuro clinics” are — I would’ve thought that most neuro patients go to hospitals
