A rule of thumb is to run 1 mile for every three minutes of a fight. Also, having a solid and reactive skill technique is essential during a crisis. I would finish with this. I'm my younger days when I could bench 400 pounds, my strenght was only as good as the oxygen that got to my muscles. Strength is important, but good cardio fuels that strength.
My opinion, no one has to agree. You are more likely to need upper body strength than to run a mile and a half.
My agency focus' TOO much on PT versus preparing rookies to be cops. There a balance and a need for each but...
I think agility is more important but I wouldn’t say change anything in your strength training. A lot of people tend to focus on strength training and end up being gassed out. I would say either add a mile to your run or just run after your strength workout also, all of your miles don’t have to be timed. Run at a steady pace some miles and time yourself for others. Lastly to get that time down

There will always be someone stronger, faster and bigger than you.
Train your brain, hone your people skills, de-escalation, and instincts and tactics. Learn from good Officers, learn body language, physical kinetics, project awareness and confidence, be sharp, and always be ‘tactical’.
I can’t count the number of ‘bad guys’ who after being put in cuffs have said they were going to resist, but didn’t because they felt it would not have gone well for them. And I am not a ‘big guy’.
