I did the exact same thing for my first in-house job. I was there for a year and then got a different in-house job where I basically recovered my salary. It takes a little bit of time to get your foot in the door first but know that you don’t have to stay there forever if the finances don’t work out.
I took a 30-40% cut when moving and had the exact same thoughts and reservations you do. But I just needed reminding that I chose to look outside the firm for a reason and to not delude myself and fall into Stockholm syndrome to keep me where I knew I'd keep experiencing the things i was looking to avoid

Acc1 and sc1, is it better to get your foot in the door as opposed to waiting for the well-paid first in-house gig?
Just check your budget — you ma need to make some lifestyle tweaks but you’ll find that many Americans love perfectly happy lives on much much less than $200k
